http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1AKpxrZubE Bob says either Froch, Ward, or Golovkin in a Las Vegas ppv in July. Loeffler contacted Bob and said they want it, Bob asked Chavez's team and they want it. Given Gennady fights on HBO in April, he'll have the highest profile and bring the highest PPV revenue of the three options. If GGG is successful, he'll likely be able to pull another end of year ppv with Martinez. How would Adama, Kirkland/Geale, Chavez, & Martinez settle for the haters out there?
168. Loeffler & Sanchez have already stated they would do a temporary move up to 168 for Chavez (meaning he wouldn't fully move up to 168 like he would for Ward & Froch).
I bet Vera just facepalmed. With this EVENT in the works the judges for his second fight with Chavez Jr have even less of a reason to score it fairly.
If Chavez is remotely in shape and focused there won't be a need for judges. I don't like Chavez, but when he was able to touch Vera he had him seriously hurt. In shape, Chavez will be able to walk Vera down inside of 6 rounds, this would've been a mismatch fight back when Chavez was still at 160.
Quite possible. Posting from a Golovkin perspective, I want to see Chavez Jr and Martinez look great in their next fights.
Vera was landing all night on Chavez, if his chin wasn't that good he would've been stopped. I think fatigue from being out of shape weakened Jr in that fight as well. Sergio has proven KO power, and he went all out trying stop Chavez who he was able to hit clean and flush. The fat brat has a solid beard.
In Eddie Hearn's last video with IFLtv, he mentions talks with HBO and Arum/Loeffler about Chavez Jr/Golovkin for Froch, if they can't get the Groves rematch sorted out. Any combination of Froch, Chavez Jr and GGG=10/10, would watch:good
