Does anyone else agree that last nights venue seemed a little bizarre? It wasn't just the anthems, the tiny ring or buffer struggling to pronounce the list of names, or even the little fellow strumming his guitar or the commentary being overridden by the shouting in Adamas corner. It was the 5000 Asian men in expensive suits chanting GGG without any idea who GGG actually is lol , I see now why HBO ditched it!

It easy to pick flaws, but lets get the facts straight.
The venue was a casino and the Asian men you are talking about were in fact from Kashakhstan and were probably the reason GGG was fighting in Monaco again because they will be millionaires who spend a absolute fortune in the casino. Apparently the cheapest tickets were about a £1000.

The venue held 900 people hardly impressive.

I never got the impression that those Asians didn't know who Golovkin was.

I got the impression that those were some hardcore Golovkin fans traveling all the way from Kazakhstan to see him fight.

To be honest they were probably the only boxing fans in the house. Everyone else showed up just to feel important in their expensive suits and dresses.

By the time the live gate, site fees (what the casino pays to host the fight), and broadcast rights (over 200 countries) come into it, it wouldn't surprise me if he made more than he makes on HBO (currently approx. $400,000 per fight).

GGG also co-promotes his fights, so he gets a piece of that, too.
