All due respect to the man, but bloody hell was he off. What happened to him over the last few years? He's declined rapidly. He had NO gameplan tonight. It was like watching a pro toy with a club fighter. Did the loss in Japan really finish Rendall that night? And what's next for him if he continues to keep fighting?
Yeah Munroe was good. He beat two world champions in Kiko Martinez twice and Victor Terrazas and you cant take that away from him, he just wasn't good enough on his big night against Nishioka in Japan. Although he never looked the same fighter since that night in Japan and he looked like he declined a lot in the second Quigg fight.
A fighter who's style was messy and based on his size and will to win. He wanted it tonight but he's a one dimensional fighter who needs to be set to punch and can't throw straight punches. Rendall's got every last ounce out of himself but he wrecked his career leaving Maloney for Hatton Promotions he stalled any momentum after the Nishioka fight but in reality Rendall would of only beaten likes of Molitor at world level IMHO. Selby's style, height and movement either way was just to good for him he accepts that. I don't think Rendall would of done much more tonight if he was in his prime the fight just doesn't suit him and he has nothing to force Selby to respect him. I've never been overly impressed by him i know it sounds harsh but just a horrible style to watch. He's got the best out of himself and beaten some good names but he's never handled movement well and Selby boxed a smart fight and looked good in large portions IMO.
Pretty simple, doesnt take peds,its the reason why fighters decline quick and some can still go on into their late 30s..
He was never that good he massively overachieved by utilizing his size advantage and engine over the years but any descent boxer with a brain would always have had his number

"Messy style based on size and will to win" As for Selby "boxing a smart fight"....well if you call bouncing all over the place spraying leather everywhere burning energy like there is no tomorrow "smart boxing" then I can't agree. Ok he was faster than the snail-slow Monroe. Big deal. I think Selby is very very unproven, and I don't share your confidence in him at all. Just saying. :good

I understand mate, We shall see how he progresses. Thought he boxed beautifully for still a young lad in all honesty mate :good. Bodyshots had leverage and were timed wonderfully and he switched and changed angles and levels with ease. He never let Munroe get close to swarm him, Made the fight easy for himself.. Not many fighters from these Isles can do what Selby does he's one of our best prospects IMHO.
