FMJ will be remembered by history as an all time great marketer, not an ATG fighter. He might have the skills, but doesnt have the mentality of an ATG fighter. His marketing prowess is superb. This isnt intended as a knock on FMJ, rather he himself cares a lot more about the marketing and financial aspects more than fighting legacy.

In all honesty, I am much more interested in his future as a promoter than as a boxer.

That's to low, you're not giving the man enough credit.

I'd say top 5...Floyd compare himself to Ali a lot.

i would say finally you woke up but you're trying to be funny.
pretty sad when someone trying to make a joke shows when he jokes he is far more in touch with reality.

what i dont understand is there is 3 or 4 of you with a bunch of accounts who supposedly hate mayweather yet thats ALL you guys talk about. the "haters" are in reality his biggest fans. you clowns talk about him more than anything else in life, talk about him way more than his fans that say they are fans.

if i do not like a fighter or anybody or anything in life i would NOT have them/it on my mind at all. you guys have floyd on your mind at ALL times.

    so sad you clowns are

You're joking right? Listen Duran was 72-1 before he lost his next fight. He started off fighting at 117 was universally regarded as either the best lightweight in history or no worse than 3rd, and ended up winning the middleweight title, at 160, against Barkley. Oh and on the way he handed the 2nd best welterweight in history his first loss.

SRR ended his career at 173-19-6 = 200 fights, with many of those losses at the very end of his career. Armstrong held three real titles (ie there was only one title per division simultaneously, at lightweight, welterweight and featherweight.

He went 150-21-10 and was ranked as the 2nd greatest fight in the last 80 years by The Ring and 2nd all time by Bert Sugar.

Greb was a middleweight who once beat Tunney who ended up the heavyweight Champion of the world. Ali beat Foreman, Liston, Frazier all three are ranked top 10 by most people in the heavyweight division.

The list goes on and on as to fighters who are more accomplished than Floyd. You just need to brush up on your boxing history.

If Floyd really wanted to impress people he'd be fighting fighters like GGG who would be favored to beat him. Many of the fighters I mentioned were clear underdogs when they entered the ring, yet managed to win.

    Agreed on that.

Better question would have been "has there been a post-war perceived best of his era that shamelessly ducked his primary main era rival to the degree that Mayweather has?".

You'd get a "no", simply because former era greats would have fought the guy just to escape the criticism.

Why did he insist on the testing in the first place?

Was it because he knew himself that Manny was just to damn good.

Pacquiao was right to refuse a test and Mayweather was out of order for even asking for testing and smearing a fighter who was better than him.

Floyd will end up like Marciano. Undefeated but NO ONE thinks hes the greatest HW nevermind the greatest fighter of all time. He`ll be remembered but he`ll always be behind Robinson,Sugar Ray,Hearns,Duran,Walcott,Armstrong and others.

Floyd: I'm the greatest of all time.

IN: Why don't you fight Manny Pacquiao?

Floyd: I see myself as Ali .

*****s: Floyd must be # 1 or # 2 if he see himself as Ali

You're just mad because he's better than any of your hero's. If he finishes 50-0 of 49-0 he will be a top 15 ATG period. Longevity resume and skills will put him there.:deal
