That's the point CHEF, their ratings make no sense. Boystov had been fighting fringe contenders at best a few years ago and had relegated himself to fighting journeymen the since.

I agree. When we were told Leipai.... the entire team had to look him up on youtube to even see who he was.

I agree, as most boxing fans do, the ranking are crazy at times..... but when an organization says "Mandatory fight" you fight. doesn't mater if you think the guy deserves the shot or not...

if you don't want to fight the guy, you drop the belt... no way wlad is going to drop the belt... he wants FULL unification and he is so close that he will do what the organization say

its funny how people think Wlad pushed Leapai to be mandatory:rofl:patsch

a fight with Boystov in Germany is 1000 times easier to sell than a fight with a guy most people have never heard off

I'm not one of those who think Wlad pushed for this or will lose, and I understand what you're saying. But I also think by taking these kinds of fights (and its certainly not just Wlad who has done this) it empowers these orgs to keep feeding us crap because they can make more money with certain fighters. Correct me if Im wrong, but a sanctioning orgs fee comes from a percentage of the overall negotiated purse. If this is true or there is not just a set fee for every title bout than ANY org can manipulate a ranking based on the monetary value they think they'll accrue. We're seeing it with what the WBC is doing with Wilder now and we've seen it with every other org.

I know everybody is expecting the Pulev fight after (assuming he wins) the Leapia fight but is it really likely Wlad will take 3 mando fights back to back well within one year? I can't think if something like that happening ever before.

yeah... it just seems like all the mands are due and being enforced in the same year. If he does fight 3 mands this year... that leaves a wide open 2015 for 3 voluntaries....... could be a fun 2015 if thats the case

I'll clear 1 thing up, when Leapi lost Kevin Johnson he had won every round and given Johnson a 8count, both fighters were stuffed in the 9th round and Johnson landed 2good punches.

Now since this has Leapi has put some good wins together, and been able to concentrate more on boxing rather than work as a fork lift driver ..it's good he is now full dedicated to boxing.
" he is going for the KO and he will go for it early, he knows it's his best chance and only chance". But for all u doubters out there I'm positive the first 1-5 rounds will be like a mike Tyson fight...

People see this as leapi getting a free paycheck, but here in Australia he has been fighting for scraps in small clubs, hotels and didn't expect a shot at the title, know he has one, he prob knows he will never get another one which IMO makes him a dangerous fighter and I'm sure Wlad won't take him lightly.
