Here is a good description of the Colin Bell Joe Jeanette fight

Here is a brief report about the bombadier billy wells loss, but it seems this one should be discounted when considering Bells record as he was sick.

I didnt know about this one. Colin Bell, at 48 years of age, wanting to come out of retirement, to challenge Pat Redmond.

Reports on the Jeanette fight have bell's speed and cleverness as impressive factors, though i am only looking at Australian reports so that might explain some things.

Particularly as the fight was in the UK.
Just noticed this comment on box rec. re Bell v Wells

"It was later determined that Bell should not have fought Wells, as he was very sick. Bell soon was in surgery for over two hours for blood clots. Oct. 2
    Western Times - Wednesday 01 July 1914"
One explanation for his poor showing

Bell has a fight listed in Boxrec V Gus Ruhlin, I'm pretty certain it never happened.
