He was offered the lead in "A star is born" which is a classic, and it was turned down by Parker. Even Elvis himself was unhappy with the contract he signed.

Mayweather is appreciated and respected as much or more than any fighter today. Fanbases don't win fights, skills do and Canelo learned that lesson the hard way. As for Pac, his popularity is fading along with his bankroll. Say what you will but the fact is that Mayweather is at the top of the mountain and everybody else is looking up.

The only one posting like a naive 'kid' right now is you.

All of us are boxing fans. But we (well, most of us anyway) are GROWN ARSE MEN first and foremost.

And when given the choice between giving you (and me), a nobody 'fan', some boxing highlights to jack off to 20 years from now or securing the financial future of the next 3-4 generations of a mans' family, every 'adult' on here is going to pick the latter every dayum time. Period.

So while you're enjoying that Thrilla in Manilla replay, just remember that Ali he had to sell the majority of his rights to his name and likeness to get paid and Joe Frazier died broke living in a room over his (closed) gym.

But you got your memories though, right? :verysad

In terms of size? They all went up the weights to the middles and could have competed evenly with each other in their primes with no real size advantage bar Hagler who is a natural middleweight. Hearns and Leonard were natural welters. Durans prime was at lightweight.

always hate it when people call floyd a pot shotter. Yes he does that now because he's 36... were any of the 'fab 4' fighting at 36.. no they were not, if they were they weren't still dominating... give him his props. He didn't fight like this as a youngster..I honestly think the only guy who could beat him would be hearns... floyd v leanord would be a very very techinical fight and i can't pick a winner, he'd beat duran in my opinion.

You talk about all these guys like they were light years ahead of floyd yet they all lost big fights, floyd hasn't done that. Heck duran lost everytime he stepped up really..

Floyds era hasn't been in the greatest but the era of leanord hearns etc was a one off really.. and i honestly think they all made each other by beating each other... fighting again... other guy winning. It made them all look so amazing.

fighters come in different shapes and sizes
hell, Oscar was poor at MW and hes noticeably bigger than Floyd

after watching Floyd at 154 (and only against blown up welters), it's pretty clear that's his limit. the only people who would want Floyd to fight at MW want it just to see him lose

besides, a pacman fight is still the most important hole in Floyd's (and pac's) resume. even if Floyd signed up to fight a MW, there is ZERO chance it'll be signed at 160, so it'll be a hollow achievement anyway...

    bring on pacman!
its 4 years later than it needed to be, but we'll all still watch it
