Well that's one option. Guess it depends on where he wants to be placed on the ATG p4p list. As mentioned, there was a poll and most had him in the 50+ range, and even though I think he's more in the 30+ range doesn't mean he can't crack the top 20 if he really wants to. But if he doesn't that's fine too.

I would look at them both and draw my own conclusion.

You are certainly as entitled to your own opinion as I am to mine.

I think Jones was the favorite as well.

Well of course. Everyone would want to fight the guy on top because they get a big payday and exposure to a new audience.

Not exactly what I said, cause he's already an ATG. But again let's compare him to Duran who's on everyone's top 10 ATG list. Duran went up to 160 fought Barkley and only weighed 154. It was the fight of the year and one of the best wins in history. Duran's also done the same against Hagler and lost, but he still good a huge amount of respect for going the distance. But I'm not married to the idea, it's just something I wouldn't mind seeing.

Mayweather is good very good...but his career has been manipulated and stage managed if he wants to be an ATG step up to the plate and prove it.

Why doesn't Golovkin fight Lara? Lara would come up to MW.

    Silly troll thread.

A better question is, why did Floyd refuse the DLh rematch and instead decided to fight Hatton, JMM(both had to move up in weight) and an ancient Mosley?:think

And that's why Duran's top 10 and Mayweather is what, top 50? Top 35 maybe? I would love to see him go up there too. But for the people saying he NEEDS to fight at middleweight, which I'm not saying is you, are idiots IMO.

ESPN already had Mayweather Jr. ranked 48th overall when he was 38-0. (He is 45-0 now) People who are saying 50+ should not be taken seriously and clearly have an agenda.

Manny Pacquiao was not ranked in the top 50 all time at the time the article was written. Obviously, the Pacman would be included in the list today.
