    So was Tyson

Mayweather is an old duck, thats why no one expects him to face a young undefeated fighter in his prime.

I doubt his mother having any say holds any merit...

Well if I thought Leo Santa Cruz had the style to beat Mayweather, that wouldn't change the fact that Khan would be a better win at WW in 2014 then LSC, just like Maidana at WW would be a better win than Khan in 2014.

    Damn.

Less than 24 hours after heavy rumors of Mayweather vs. Maidana come out and everybody flipping their stance to fit their agenda.

Fun times. Just another day at ESB before Mayweather news!

You're deluded. A welterweight - even a light welterweight - Mike Tyson would destroy Floyd in one round. At the level he is at now, Keith Thurman would look foolish fighting Floyd, and would never even find him in the ring. Give him another 5 years of good experience, who knows.

    You are mistaken.

I've never flipped my stance on this, much less to "fit an agenda".

I have made 2-3 other threads on how I don't want Maidana-Floyd. Khan is more interesting than Maidana, and I give Thurman a more realistic chance of winning than Khan.

So, because YOU have the opinion that those guys match up better against Floyd means everyone else should value them as better wins...? Despite being at the obviously lesser point of their careers relative to Maidana? No. It doesn't work like that and good thing. If it did then no fight would ever be a good victory or bad defeat and every decision would be a robbery.

If Floyd had a chance to beat Alpha Male Keith Thurman, he would have been groomed...just like the red haired 23yo hype

Thurman will violently violate Mayweather...thats why Mayweather is having a hard time picking between Khan and the man Khan beat

Do you think Maidana matches up favorably against Floyd?

The fact that Maidana beat Broner doesn't change the fact that Maidana is still Maidana. He will never have very good skills, balance, speed, ring IQ. Just because Broner couldn't make it through the gate doesn't mean the gate deserves a chance at the king.

Floyd will take the shine off Maidana and look good doing it. Casuals and you will give the win greater value because you've been clouded by recent events.
