Let's be realistic, both have no chance in hell. Even those that think Khan may have his moments are three(or five at most) idiots. Maidana, in comparison, offers a major world title and is coming off a big win. Khan offers nothing but a year of overprotecting inactivity and a life and death experience against Diaz. If Khan wants the payday he should look to score a serious victory at 147.

Hopefully the rumors are true about Maidana. If Khan wants a shot/payday he should look to score at least a decent win at 147.

Let's stop comparing both Madonna and Khan. You're playing Mayweather's game. Both are awful opponents.

Mayweather = clear number one WW

Wladimir = clear number one HW

Maidana = clear top 10 WW, WBA titlist
Recent winning streak of: Jesus Soto Karass (26-7-3), Angel Martinez (13-3-1), Josesito Lopez (30-5), and Adrien Broner (27-0) before his last loss to Devon Alexander (22-1).

Leapai = maybe top 20 HW
Recent winning streak of: Akmal Aslanov (13-5-1), Matt Hicks (13-8], Joe Lloyd (2-4), Felipe Romero (16-6-1), and Denis Boystov (33-0) before his last loss to Kevin Johnson (25-1-1).

Lets not push our agenda THAT much...

Fighting Leapai would be like Mayweather fighting Josesito Lopez or Luis Collazo... Leapai is currently closer to that level or a more inferior one than he is to Maidana's current state.

He will never get it because he knows that anyone random at 147 would eventually spark him off any meaningful payday for good. He stayed inactive for one year in hopes of getting this fight.

    This was a quality exchange.

    1. The most overdone and overly discussed fight out there that neither side will take.

    2. OK, fine, then a Middleweight who has an exclusive contract with a different network than Floyd does.

    Dude really can't win...

Just 2 days ago everyone on this site was hating the Khan fight and holding out hope for Maidana. Like usual, rumors have run of late that Floyd is picking the better and more desired opponent and, also like usual, all of the "boxing fans" out there flip back to Khan being the badass that Floyd is now clearly ducking due to styles. The downgrading of Maidana has already begun. But if he announces it's Khan tomorrow, everyone who had changed their mind in the first place change it once again back to their original stance and make it seem like everything they said was chill, made sense, and didn't contradict themselves. For constant Floyd bashers, you must be ahead of the rest and cover all boundaries. If he signed for Pacquiao? "He waited until Pac lost... and more than just once. He's a coward." People want him to fight Golovkin at 154. If he did sign for it though, it'd be: "What a ******* dragging him down in weight to a skeleton. This fight means nothing if Floyd wins."

no one at present is going to beat floyd. i wish it were otherwise but that's just not the case. so its really about who has earned the right to get beat and get paid. garcia has actually done more than anyone to earn a shot given his recent body of work. maidana beat down the guy who was supposed to be the next floyd. khan has done nothing lately as scar pointed out.

If he stops Maidana it would make for an impressive victory. If he stops Khan it means nothing.

It's just the usual unappreciative boxing "fans" who have to cover all their bases of criticizing any potential route Floyd goes down in his future.

    Happens every fight...

Edit: didn't anyone tell you that you can't speak logically if it goes against the majority's dire hopes? Those hopes would be for the public to view Floyd as having a worse legacy than reality, which clearly will not be the case to anyone who is familiar with the state of boxing between 1996-present.
