    I hope so too!

Video doesn't seem to really say anything though. Roger just seems to say that Maidana is a possible opponent right?

Thurman hasn't even headlined his own Showtime/HBO card yet, he isn't a name fighter he hasn't beaten anybody of note except Karras who Maidana already beat.

I like Thurman a lot and think he could end up being great but him vs Floyd next would be insane.

It's not a worse fight than Oritz. Maidana beat the **** out of Ortiz.

It's better thant he Khan fight. That's the point.

You cannot spin that in any way to be a beating. A close fight 3 years ago. Nice one.

Let's not pretend that Khan hasn't regressed badly since then.

Maybe we should give Morales a shot because he beat the **** out of Pac all those years ago.

Stylistically there's several opponents better for FLoyd than Maidana.

But just because they have styles to give him problems doesn't mean they've EARNED the right to have a big payday and fight the P4P king.

Maidana has ABSOLUTELY earned his shot at fighting FLoyd.

What has Amir Khan done in the last 2 years or so? He's gone 2-2 in 4 fights at 140 pounds. He hasn't fought anyone at 147 pounds and he doesn't even hold a title at 140 at the moment.

So how exactly does he think he deserves a fight with FLoyd? he doesn't deserve a fight with any titlist at 147 pounds. You're not going to win the Mayweather lottery by going 2-2 in your last 4 with your most recent fight a very tough one against a well past his prime Julio Diaz.

So to reiterate, Khan might have the style to give Floyd fits for about 2 rounds at most until he starts getting picked apart. But Maidana has absolutely earned his right at the title shot.

Khan is now a shot fighter, that makes me not interested in the fight. if this was 2010 then maybe. For all this style talk i'm convinced Maidana will do better than Khan vs Floyd in 2014 at WW.

There are some real moronic posters on ESB. So a guy whose never campaigned at 147 pounds and currently holds no titles is fully deserving of a fight with FLoyd where he'll end up making a career payday?

It would be a tough pill to swallow, but I'd be ok with a Khan-Floyd fight if Khan was on some kind of impressive winning streak and actually CAMPAIGNED for a few fights at 147 before he called the kingpin of the division out.

Amir is really one of the most delusional boxers I can remember in recent times. And I've been following boxing closely for 20+ years now so I've seen my fair share of boxers that suffer from delusions of grandeur.

jeez guys lets be honest.. the only guy i see troubling mayweather is still pacquiao, i still think he would beat pac though. Anyone else is just there to make a payday.. i'd like to see khan though because we'v seen floyd dominate these one dimensional big punchers... atleast khan offers something new. Although khan is a one dimensional fighter, once his speed is figured out and timed he has nothing else..

Thurmans one of my favourite fighters, He isn't ready to face floyd yet though. Sept will be garcia, unless they pull out again. You guys have to remember that showtime are involved with the opponent selection too.. they look for stars who draw numbers ppv and revenue wise.. you can't just throw up names and say he should fight them. Like i said i like thurman but he doesn't draw much right now...

I don't think Floyd should be wasting his time with any of these guys. He's already an All Time Great, a guy whose won 4 lineal titles across 5 weight classes, the best defensive fighter in the history of boxing.

These last 4 fights should all be to enhance his legacy and not to stat pad.

Guys that he should be fighting in my humble opinion are:

    Pacman
    Bradley
    Martinez

His last fight will be in September 2015, so at that time a young, hungry champion could be more well established at that point, someone like Thurman or he could take on Lara who has a chance to establish himself as one of the P4P best fighters in the world by late 2015.

But the first 3 guys I mentioned are all future 1st ballot HOF'ers and another ATG in Manny.

He beats those guys, I'll have no problem calling him one of the 10 best boxers who ever graced a boxing ring. I'll rank him right up there with Duran, SRL and Benny Leonard- somewhere in the 6-10 range, no doubt.
