So Mayweather u-turns and picks the fight with Maidana, despite the grand promise of letting the fans decide the next match up. Whats going on there? Does he see a threat in the ****stani's superlative speed and skill? Is there any threat in Maidana, who is possibly as slow and un-cerebral as a boxer comes? I mean hes 'close your eyes and swing' type stuff. I do believe Maidana is over rated and his win over Broner was more due to a complacent ''The Problem'' than a masterful performance by the Argie. Although, in my prescience - I do foresee this move to fight Maidana, which will be Money's worst PPV earner to possibly pave a way for a Pac fight.

Thurman and Brook insetad of Maidana?. :rofl:rofl:rofl Brook has beat nobody but been around years and Keith's best win is Karras who Maidana already beat. Thurman hasn't even headlined a TV card yet, steady on and i like One time, he is gonna be good.

Maidana's slowness really is being overstated here, he is not that slow FFS. The way people post about him on here you would think he never ever lands shots on his opponents and has lost his last 4 or 5 fights because of how slow he is. Maidana is underrated on here actually if anything No way is he overrated Ha.

Terrible thread and post BTW Op. Khan is a shot fighter with no form and no wins at WW. His "speed" wont trouble Floyd in the slightest after a round or 2. Floyd vs Khan is a disgusting fight and can't believe it could be happening. Khan in 2014 should not be an option for a Floyd fight. This ain't 2009-11.

Or, maybe.. just maybe, the US votes were heavily in Maidana's favor (Meaning, the people chipping in for revenue want Maidana). Fightnews AND ESPN polls were won by Maidana, by quite the margin.

That thought ever crossed your mind?

A mere Con is considered a joke fight in the US.
And Maybe, just maybe.. Amir Khan bought votes like he bought Twitter followers, the glass jawed chump. Likely he had some pak!stani friends pressing buttons 24/7.

Anyone else thinking Maidana won the national votes (meaning the US votes) by quite the margin? Both FightNews and ESPN had him winning by 60%+.

Looks like Amir Khan's chimps pressing buttons 24/7 from non-buying nations did it in vain

I am so happy that Amir Khan isn't next, he never did earn the fight, and lets not forget that Maidana OFFERED HIM THE FIGHT, whilst CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. And Khan dismissed him in rude fashion, saying he had "bigger fish to fry" :patsch

Amir Khan is a glass jawed ducker, maybe he should buy some more twitter followers, that might have Mayweather buying him as an opponent.:rofl:lol::patsch

    Khan is next...

    :patsch

Stop the butthurt over Khan... Both fights are a joke. Maidana will get his ass whooped worse than Khan lol...

Maidana getting a payday is what you all really care about? bull****.

Because that's the only good thing which could turn out of this situation.

    Luckily he isn't!

Do you really think an international poll was going to decide the fate?
We all know Amir Khan had his muppets pressing buttons 24/7 from Pak!stan.

Marcos Maidana won the real polls. Mayweather probably saw him winning the ESPN poll by a wide margin.

Who gives a **** about these bull**** poll/votes. You're playing Mayweathers stupid ass game.

Who cares who's next. Both will lose & neither are worth paying for.

Amir Khan should buy some more twitter followers.

After all, he's a GLOBAL SUPERSTAR. :patsch
Amir Khan buys twitter followers like Adrien Broner buys time in the sun @ Worldstar.

My personal deduction from what Schaefer has said about the timeframe for Matthysse's return would suggest Floyd vs Khan plus Matthysse/Maidana undercard. Huge South American fight fan base to maybe offset the potential loss of the cinco de Mayo Mexican buys. That also means 2 world title fights rather than one.

Plus it puts matthysse in line for a title, which will be the icing on the cake for GB as they are still obviously intent on making him a star...

Much more 'even'ly matched fights too. Khan and matthysse don't match up well at all from a promoters standpoint, and the same could be said for Floyd/Maidana. Ie, 2 fights where the outcome and betting odds would be fairly easy to predict! That's not good matchmaking!
