it was awful. One of the cheapest shots I ever saw.

Protect yourself at all times, for sure, and he should never have tried to butt him, but all the same, it was bad.

    Ultimately I blamed the ref.

    :rofl :patsch

    ...because it's Mayweather?

It shouldn't even rank in a top 500 list of cheap shots.

Hell, it wasn't even among the worst of the last decade:

    Barrera over Marquez?

    Bika over Mendy?

    Abraham over Dirrell?

    (Bobby) Pacquiao over Velasquez?

    Butler over Grant?

    Dib over Yamaguchi?

    Educate yourself.

    just a little curious,
in what way was the ref at fault ? he called T/O took the point away, screamed at ortiz then called them to center ring and called time in. he was looking at the outside judge looking for them to start the clock again and to make sure the round wasnt over.

how and why was the ref ever in question ? i had heard this plenty about the ref but i dont understand what the ref did that people question

The ref isn't at fault at all. Some ******s try to make a big deal that he never technically said "time in." He said "let's go." Well if those same ******s would do some research they would know that Cortez has always said "let's go". Those are his choice of words whenever he wants the fighters to start fighting. Floyd understood just fine. Why not Ortiz?

The easy way out? Against an opponent he was already beating 4 rounds to 0 up to that point? Against an opponent who's only weapon was his headbutts because he couldn't do a damn thing else?

 I can always rely on these noobs to provide a good laugh from time to time.

Easy way out?! Ortiz never won a minute until then. Mayweather had dominated every round for a full 180 seconds.

    :good

...and before people chime in with "but Floyd isn't a big puncher at welterweight! :|" as they did for some time afterward... guess what? Neither is Collazo. :deal

It doesn't take massive power to get rid of Victor Ortiz...just enough precision and crisp accurate punches on the button to make him want no more.

Judah's left uppercut would make him retire, both on the night and permanently.

I was enjoying the fight. I was a little surprised at how ineffective Ortiz was. With his physical tools he should have been at least able to land something meaningful after 4 rounds. A body shot, a jab, anything!

Reaction to the headbutt - I was pissed, because Ortiz was falling apart already. And hated that he was resorting to this crap. And the kissing and constant apologizing just made it worse.

Reaction to the 2-Piece - I was jumping up and down with joy. Love seeing cheaters get what they have coming to them.

Reaction after the 10 count - Pure shock. Those punches were solid but it didn't look like Floyd put full power into them. I thought Ortiz would get up and I was surprised he didn't. He survived those bombs Berto hit him with but couldn't handle Floyd? Yeah, somebody was looking for an easy exit and Ortiz found his opportunity. Did the same damn thing against Collazo.

I was disappointed that Victor went there and ruined what was becoming a one sided ass whipping by Floyd. I wanted to see Floyd work his magic. Victor was lucky the fight ended when it did. He was a bout to be embarrassed even more. I am sure that was what Victor had in mind to begin with. To get out of this fight any way he could.

Collazo is a poor comparison. It was a cheap shot and it was the easy way out.

How is Collazo a poor comparison, exactly? He is another non-puncher @ 147lbs who replicated exactly what people say Mayweather shouldn't have been able to do to Ortiz. :huh Seems a perfectly relevant comparison to me.

It was neither, and you're pretty stupid if you think it was either.
