DeGale?? Degale simply was not busy enough and whenever he hit Groves aor got in to range was far too negative. You cannot compare DeGale's offensive skills or mindset to Froch. Froch will not pass up opportunities. DeGale imo, if he was busier would have won that fight. Groves threw very little which trying to box on the back foot. Groves will not win a fight like that, backpedal and throw the odd shot and win rounds. Rather he will have to get in, let his punches go and then get out and not get drawn in to a fight. Froch could look the busier man if Groves is too negative.

Also if Groves tries to bomb Froch out early and doesn't get it, then it will drain him later. This is no walk in the park for Groves. It's a hard hard fight and he knows it. Froch knows that as soon as Groves slows down and loses a bit of pop on his punches, he will not be as dangerous, so if Froch can remain in the fight whilst taking as little damage as possible, then I will favour Froch to get Groves out of there later. Groves did not respond well at all to getting hit in rounds 8 and 9. If you are going to wilt bad at that point in the fight, then god help you for the championship rounds.

Question you have to ask, is that we know Froch is a damn good finisher when he has a tired opponent in front of him, we've seen him do it. We don't know how good Groves is deep in to a fight at the top level. Froch when wounded is dangerous, can we say the same about Groves? We simply do not know yet, but the signs were not good in the first fight, when Froch started tagging him. A toe to toe war deep in a fight will always favour Froch IMO. This could well be the key here and if Groves fights the wrong fight and has run out of gas or is hurt, then we will surely find the answer to this question in the rematch.

This is a tough hard fight for both men, so I am glad it's on. No cakewalk or easy night for anyone. Folk saying easy win for Groves are talking pure crap.

Its fairly widely accepted that Groves would have been stopped if the fight had of went on. That is why Froch is now a big favourite at the bookies. Groves was almost out on his feet. Couple that with Froch having a horrid start and having to take clean right hands very often, and having the chin to take them.

Best case scenario for Groves is he comes out and lands big bombs on Froch for the first 6 rounds and wins all the rounds and possibly KOs Froch.

But isn't that what happened in the first fight? Froch still came on and was coming on strong.

We should have learned by now that we can't underestimate the heart, chin and will of Froch.

Groves will need to fight a very cagey fight and come looking for a points victory to win. He has the skills to pull this off but I'm not sure he will do it. Even if he comes in fighting entirely like he did vs Degale, I'm not convinced Froch can't find a way to get it done.

Its intriguing because they both can beat each other. I just think Froch has to get the vote because of his proven granite chin, heart, stamina and toughness. He's just tougher than George.

Also if I remember correctly what seemed to go unnoticed by the sky commentators was the body punches Froch was landing. Which would have taken some steam out of Groves. He was clearly sapped of energy by the time he was stopped. You could see it in the 8th. He emptied his tank considerably by expending too much energy trying to get the KO and some of those Froch body shots landing. Even when Froch was losing the rounds he was always still very much in the fight.

Just some folk seem to have a distorted version of reality for some reason thinking Groves was walking the fight with ease. He was not, Froch was always dangerous, though he got tagged often with hard shots, he wasn't deterred and came on late. We know Froch gets hit, but we also know he takes a good shot and throws them back and as the fight progressed he was getting the better of the exchanges.

As I said, its going to be a hard fight for both men, and Groves is going to have to fight better and smarter than he did in the first fight. He may well win it, but never count Froch out. He's one tough SOB.

Groves will be a more confident fighter this time and if he watches the fight it will help him a lot. Froch is not the same fighter as he used to be, so only time will tell...........

How did you come to that conclusion? They both landed their best shots, groves didn't even hit the deck and froch got dropped hard...

Groves in 7. Froch has slipped and Groves is too quick and too clever.

If Froch takes his shots just as half as good as he did like the last time and the fight goes to the championship rounds, then Groves is in deep ****. With that being said Groves's best chance is to win on points.

    Exactly

    Widely accepted my arse

Groves was fine. Most of frochs shots were not even landing flush.

    Groves by stoppage
Froch is so easy to hit its laughable

That's not widely accepted at all. If it was there wouldn't have been such a outcry in favor of a rematch and the IBF wouldn't have ordered one. The only thing that is widely accepted as a certainty is that the stoppage was premature and prevented us from seeing whether Froch could have finished Groves off clean or if Groves could weather the offense and see out the fight.

Makes me laugh people are talking about how good groves ring IQ is - really????

Even the biased Jim Watt said he was an idiot at times in the fight - His IQ isnt all that and he is ruled by the red mist like Khan.... he wants to beat Carl in a war, but the fact is he aint good enough to do that
