Could Calzaghe have competed with non shot Jones at any point in their careers ?

Look at how Salem was able to put Joe down... Had that been a 168 Roy, there would have been serious problems...

And lets not forget Roy made some great adjustments against Griffin and was landing the right hand at will when Griffin was on his way to being knocked out and took the dive.

...but will McIntyre and tocker pudwill agreed instead.

    LOL.

Hopkins and jones were only remotely interested because it was an unknow title. Who the hell wants an IBO title today? - that's basically what they were being offered, something worthless, only worth it if you get paid a lot for it.

anyone who isn't an absolutely consummate boxer (which joe wasn't), their best chance of beating roy was a fast strong accurate punch. to catch him flush unawares. calzaghe never offered this at any stage - he was pretty quick, but wildly inaccurate and almost always hit with little power.

joe cant even win by lucky punch, he didn't have the punch.

One thing you forget is that Calzaghe always got back up, was never on bambi legs, never had to hold to survive and came on strong.
Jones has question marks over his career also after the Hall fight, and didnt look much different when he fought Hall to when he fought faded Calzaghe. the difference was the opponent.

Why people keep talking about them... Its as I said. Calzaghe makes many fanboys feel insecure and they cant stand the fact he has a good resume and beat Jones and Hopkins, especially as Hopkins is still winning in world class and not gassing and being the stronger fighter down the stretch against all others

what good is getting back up if you are losing and keep getting floored?

you are spouting the philosophy of a loser, a noble loser but a loser all the same.

Joe was hurt by that punch from Salem, it took him a little on his feet to shake it off... 168 Jones Jr had freakish power, and was the best finisher in the business.

Calzaghe got up no probs against Salem and I posted the video to you to show how he didnt have to hold to survive.
Look at how lighter hitting Del Valle put Jones down who went wobbly legged and had to hold to survive. Had that been Calzaghe Jones would have been in real trouble.
Jones caught Griffin but didnt make adjustments, it was later on in the fight when he caught Montell. Calzaghe made adjustments within a few rounds

Shot to **** Roy that struggled with bloated WW Trinidad, and went life and death with Anthony Hanshaw was giving Joe a run for his money in the first half of the fight.

I just pointed out that Calzaghetards will use getting up against bum as great adjustment, shot to **** Roy put Joe down prime would probably stop him or win wide UD.

Tell me what fight Calzaghe kept getting floored? Never happened Herol .
Jones wasnt always able to even get off the floor.

Lets cut the philosophy and stick to facts. Though that will bury you

If he felt he could he would have not needed the crown jewels to prove that .

ummm in response to roy flooring him, you said he keeps getting up.

if he keeps getting up, that implies he gets floored multiple times.

which, in all honesty, is going to happen when hes caught by roy on multiple occasions.

But yeah, he will keep on getting up.

its your philosophy that's the issue, not mine, but I see you've ducked that by pretending its mine (when I didn't offer a philosophy at all).

One fighter was P4P #1, the face of boxing went from middleweight to win HW belt while other milked WBO belt in UK lol, one thing that goes with prime Joe is IRRELEVANT and this is not hate this is fact, he was as relevant as WLad was with his WBO belt while Lewis was the MAN in the division - about the same!

Joe's punch resistance was declining IMO..

Had Joe fought on longer like Roy did, I am sure we would have seen him knocked out at some point. Especially if he went up to CW in his 40's.

    'I'm not chasing Roy jones'.

    'I don't want tough fights'

not forgetting Joe's desire to remain unbeaten.

its no wonder he didn't show a valid interest in the best fighters.
