And to break the all time attendance, they are going to need 250,000 plus (for a Zale defence). And paid wise, J C Superstar beat a Tijuana Taxi Dri... sorry Greg Haugen in front of 120,000+ in the Azteca stadium. A fight that saw Haugen do the bravest thing I have ever seen a boxer do, when he walked to the ring to Born in the USA!
It can't be delayed 24 hours if there is WWE PPV the next night because of Sky Box Office. I doubt the weather will be an issue.
Personally I'd like to see it in London but can't see it happening. Froch is still tehnically the champ and so will likely decide venue. I don't think Froch could bear to go to London and not be the most supported fighter in the main event. It'll be at the city ground and it'll be a bi job for the police if groves wins.
Going for Old Trafford 2nd Emirates 3rd Etihad Old Trafford is Ace been there many times. Scrub Twick never gonna happen as for Forest ground said a million times wont happen.
In the north stand, upper tier, a couple of rows from the front, just right of the ring. Not the greatest seats, but listening and speaking to those with more expensive seats nearer the ring, the views were still far from brilliant. Boxing and Football stadiums are a strange combination, brilliant atmosphere, terrible views. And Old Trafford is the worse I have been to, and I went to a few Football ground fights.
The Emirates stadium is one of the best for views. In most places it feels like you are quite close to the action. It would be a great place to host the fight and the transport links are good.
Would have loved it if they chose twickenham but as people said that's probably out of the question. Hope it's somewhere in London though as my mates probably won't go up north for it, desperately want to be there on the night.
The reason I say Old Trafford is the old man was at the Benn vs Eubank fight and he said it has a good view, don't know where he was sitting though. What football ground do you think is the best suited for the fight.
I have not been there, but the Commonwealth Stadium in Manchester looks good. But still if you are at the back, it is going far from ideal view wise, but atmosphere can compensate to a degree. Maybe I am getting old, but if a fight is at a stadium, I do not even consider going anymore.
Bah Humburg!!! There's always one moaner. Look you can either get yourself down to Specsavers or get you're wallet out and pay for a seat with a good view or just stay in the house and watch it on Box-office? But stop you're moaning... That is FOUR MAJOR WHINGES...You sound like George Groves Do you use Alpecin shampoo as well? Old Trafford or The Emirates is the best bet :good
I understand why the fight is probably going to happen at a stadium. It makes sense to all. And like you suggest there is always TV, and for these type of fights TV is probably best. Also if you are think I am moaning here, it is probably not best if you look at my take on the rematch in the prediction thread!
There's a concert on at the etihad on May 31st Would the police allow two major events in Manchester on the same night? I'm guessing it'll be the Emirates. What are transport links like by road for the Emirates?
