Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Willie Casey revisited

Crazy, crazy night. I got covered in Affif Belgchecham's blood from his nose injury. Casey was burping after the body punch and brave for trying to continue. He simply had no defence against Rigo, best fighter I've seen in the flesh, even if it was only for 2min 38sec!

 

Belghecham was very sore about the stoppage as I recall. From where I sat it looked like he had a case. How did it look to you?

 

He was going ballistic afterwards, sure he pushed the ref and everything. Bit of a bull**** stoppage, Fitzer was pelting his arms and gloves. But then again there wasn't anything coming back and his nose was badly broken.

One of the most embarrassing and dangerous mismatches i've seen in many years of being a boxing fan.

From the moment it was announced i couldn't believe it. It was really embarrassing to watch the difference in levels. Rigo broke more sweat signing autograph's!.

Casey tried bless him, He was just over matched and wouldn't of won even if there was 5 of him fighting Guillermo.

Only positive was for the Irish fans and young boxers to see greatness in the flesh that night.

Mismatches happen but this was like a Champions League side vs a Non League club's youth team. Thank the Lord Jesus Willie didn't get hurt and the lad could enjoy his money.

 

I think Rigo was top class loved seeing him fight. Same with Poonswatt when he destroyed Dunne so powerful he was. I didnt like the atmosphere at the Casey fight I dont know how many times little knackers tried to either take peoples seats or coats. It was by far a sell out. Nothing agaisnt Casey at all. As for the Fitzer fight the stoppage was a joke from were I was sitting.

 

Was very odd.
The odds on a Rigondeaux win were ridiculous, think Casey was actually favourite.

Nonsense. Rigo was heavy favourite. I and plenty other backed him heavily at Evens to win by stoppage.

Think the odds came in a lot near fight night but remember someone pointing out the odds on here a few weeks before... I remember having a bet but not putting loads on as I thought someone must know something I didn't.

Remember being gutted when I saw the result that I didn't go all in.

 

Just bumped the thread, without reading it all evens for stoppage was about right, a great price for a mismatch.
