A persistent and unsettling reality of the sport is that unfortunately, there are lots of coaches (on both sides of the pond, I'd say) who impart terrible advice on young aspiring boxers, ie "Looking the part does matter. :deal"

Not "mind your cardio; be fit..." - but look physically like someone's idea of a boxer in a movie. At least as important as stamina, fundamentals...

I have borne direct witness. :-(
