    Yeah, that came out a while back. Supposedly he injured himself and wanted to bail out, asking both Cunningham and the ref to halt it for him...but fortunately Purdy was pulled by his corner in the nick of time.

    Sort of a Thrilla in Manila type scenario. (Ali wanting to quit but not being allowed by his corner, who stalled long enough to let Futch pull a reluctant Frazier, who ironically wanted to answer the bell unlike Ali...)

    Apparently Alexanders trainer was about to walk to the ref between rounds to give up, when the ref comes over to say Purdy just quit. Think it was like after the 7th or 8th.. Seems insane to me. It was as much of a one-sided affair as i have ever witnessed, barring a stoppage.

    It would be an insult to champions to call these last two rounds the 'championship rounds.' But thank God they're here because that obviously means the end is in sight.
