I noticed something about the fighters on my P4P list - none of them drink alcohol.

    My P4P List:

    1. Mayweather Jr.
    2. Ward
    3. Rigondeaux
    4. Pacquaio
    5. Danny Garcia
    6. Bradley
    7. Wladimir Klitschko
    8. Marquez
    9. Lara
    10. Provodnikov

Wladimir Klitschko: "I'm not a big fan of alcohol. I think it's one of the most dangerous drugs in the world. I'm OK with it if you don't drink too much of it. A glass of red wine is good for you, but too much would affect my athletic performance."

Erislandy Lara's mother was an alcoholic.

Danny Garcia: " So after Christmas, I can get ready for my fight, and New Year's doesn't matter because I don't drink, so I will probably be with the family chilling. So I'm disciplined. I know what I gotta do and everything is perfect timing."

    Pacquaio doesn't drink anymore.

Wlad is on the money here. The occasional beer or two (literally no more) or a glass of wine a couple times a week is no big deal, but you don't have to go very high in the amounts before it starts being detrimental to performance. One "big night" does plenty of harm by itself in a game like pro boxing where the deciding factors are marginal.

a beer or wine here and there won't hurt as long as you fit it in your calorific needs if you're making weight

    Option #2 on the poll.

#1 is hard to argue with on paper to be on the safe side, but realistically speaking #2 is acceptable. No top athlete should be having "big nights" during their active prime, though, even during their off-season/while not in training camp.
