Best heavyweights of the last 20 years? Holyfield, Tyson, Both Klits , Bowe, etc. Lewis beats them all.
Vitali is more appropriately seen as from the era after Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, etc. And the best of those guys is Holyfield - the only one of them who faced all the others when it mattered. And the only one who wasn't knocked out by second rate fighters - a feat Lewis managed twice.
Sure didn't look that way in the Holyfield rematch and also lost to guys like Mercer ,Rahman and Tyson's sparring partner in McCall !
No kidding. Lewis is so overrated on this site it's not funny - as this thread and poll demonstrate. He was very beatable, and he didn't face ANY of the other top guys in the era when it mattered. He waited until Holyfield and Tyson were old to face them and he didn't fight Bowe at all. Oh, and he got destroyed by two second rate fighters in McCall and Rahman when he held the title. Lewis is a great fighter, yes - but he's borderline top ten at best.
Exactly ! Fights Tyson long after his best just wanted the name ,struggles with a past his best Holyfield in the rematch and in fact I felt he lost that fight ..I 'll give him the first fight but outside of that he's highly overratted !
