I think Lee arrived in Glasgow yesterday and they had their first sparring session last night.

    Similar style to Crawford?

I'm sure Billy will pop in and let us know how it's going.

Both boys sparred 8 fantastic round, folk would pay to watch that last night.
Again as with all the sparring partners idea prep for this fight and Ricky's just about there now, really excited about this fight, beat Crawford and people in the states will sit up and take notice of a very talented UK fighter

Lol, im not saying its bad sparring at all, but i cant see it being much help. I just dont rate Selby. I know i will get bashed up on the British board for saying that

Sky are pushing Selby to hard, im sorry i just dont see it. He's not even that slick or fast and doesnt fight off the back foot using counters like Crawford does and probably will do. Burns would be better sparring Mitchell, to prepare for Crawford, but we all know what happens there

Reminds of Froch beating up on Barker to prepare for Groves, when they are nothing a like. Its just a 'name' to spar

I think the sparring with Selby is to tick all boxes.. If you look at the Gonzales fight, they didn't expect him to be that good and probably got sparring all wrong.. If you look at this one Mitchell is ideal sparring but if you add in Tyronne Nurse for work rate, Luke Campbell for speed and Lee Selby for timing and delivery of punches then all fighters are covering sparring to how good Crawford should be.

Yes you will be right mate, remind us all of the amount of world title fights you've been involed in again?
Selby is a very very talented lad and one thing that will never happen in my gym is failing to prepare

David the sparring for what e knew about Gonzalez was ideal, however he boxed nothing like anything we seen,he was a fantastic counter puncher and that result will look so much better in time

None, unlike the amount of pie eating contests you attend

You arnt failing to prepare at all, just preparing to fail. Selby is average, Ricky will lose, and then you will spit your dummy out again and disappear from this forum like last time :deal

Cant take it then, get a grip pal you're a professional. We all have opinions, and mine is that selby is average compared to fighters that dont get half the attention sky give him.

Also why you talking about british titles when this is a world title fight, all im saying is i think selby would add nothing to prepare for the very good and very different style of Crawford.

Anyway, this is a forum so dont take offence, you fat pudding
