Who is the more entertaining, fan-friendly boxer: Andre Ward or Gennady Golovkin?

If we factor in competition, Ward. I care to see his fights as he is fighting a good fighter.

Golovkin has seldom fought even fringe contenders, so my interest in the match going in and my expectations lead to the "stoppage" itself not automatically being more interesting than Ward's fights.

Because of this, my vote goes to Ward. He boxes beautifully and his inside fighting game is probably my favorite in the sport, and has been since he laid his forehead into Green's chest and wiped the floor with him.

Ward was also coming back from a major surgery.

And no matter what you say, Dawson is still a better win than any of GGG's wins. That much is fact.

If you take fighters at what they say, then you will have a very interesting, contradicting, and skewed perspective of the sport.

 

There is no right or wrong answer here, folks.

Some people prefer coming forward, throwing combinations, scoring stoppages, etc.. Others like pure boxers with diverse skills, defensive body movement, etc.

He never spoke of Ward again afterwards

After his last fight, he kept Ward out of his mouth. Only called out HOpkins/Froch.

 

Andre bored is more boring than Wlad! They're both boring, but Wlad knocks people out!!

 

That was based on leverage in negotiating.

Dawson has zero leverage, as he brings nothing to the table other than the opportunity to gain some marginal respect with a victory. He has no fans (well, one here, but I haven't found many others).

It'd be different if Dawson brought in or was being built to bring in as much revenue (ratings, future capital, etc.) as Ward did.

 

Who gets people to tune in to watch his fight?
