You have to question why Mayweathers team sent Khan the contract a couple of months back if they had no intention of fighting him. Perhaps Khan was wrong to tell the world he had signed his part of the contract but it does seem like he's been taken for a ride.

intention was there.... but in fairness to floyd....

everyone in the industry and the fans started saying it was a garbage fight etc....

and i guess his camp listened which is a good thing.... but i guess they should have thought about that before sending a contract....

Khan is humiliating his self. All Mayweather did was post a picture online and Khan thought he made it. If Khan wants a shot he needs to earn it, staying inactive for one year to avoid getting sparked by anyone random isn't the way to get a fight like this.

Can you imagine? : "I will be fighting Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez on May 3rd, 2014, at MGM Grand. He is a legendary Mexican fighter who deserves a chance at redemption. I hope the Mexican fans support this fight and buy PPV."

Marquez is with Top Rank, fight has no chance of happening.

he's humiliated himself. No one owes him a shot. Had he beaten Alexander when he was supposed to, there wouldnt even be a discussion about him not deserving the fight.

however, he wanted the easy way out and it looks like its backfiring. I would rather khan over Maidana, but Khan did it to himself. Oh well.

Mayweather will humiliate Khan worse if they fight.

Oh wait, I forgot, Khan is a "tough style matchup" LOL

^no chance, if that fight had been close first time round.... or if marquez had beat bradley....

that's why a cotto fight would be attractive to some... he's coming off a decent win, and gave floyd a goodish fight.....

He's not under contract with top rank hence why he said he would fight porter or maidana.

This is probably closer to the truth but as you said they should have thought about this before sending Khan the contract. Maidana definitely deserves the fight but the treatment of Khan is wrong imo. I'm saying this as a big Mayweather fan. Non of us know what is going on behind the scenes but it doesn't look good watching from the outside.

Almost fifty threads merged here just now. (since the last merge nine days ago).

47 in a fell swoop, adding in 1,288 constituent posts. Quite a busy week for Mayweather vs. Khan/Maidana chatter!
