HBO footed most of that bill. He won't be getting that again, unless he's in a big fight, due to the shoddy viewing figures and the fact it was a terrible fight. Look how they are treating Rigondeaux.

None of the guys I mentioned will accept being on the short end of the purse when they are the draw. If you was Froch, and YOU had packed out Wembley arena for a rematch against Ward, loads of viewers had got it on Sky Box office to watch YOU fight- would you accept an 85/15 split in favor of Ward? No- you'd want a bigger part of the pie.

It doesn't matter what HBO payed him. Nobody saw Rodriguez as a big fight outside of you. I'm not hating on Ward- you dont seem to understand that, I am stating what he needs to do to get big fights in the future.

You bring up Mayweather but he has the personality to draw- Ward has a boring personality and nobody is interested in him.

    Explain.

So you think Ward should carry on fighting once a year against B-level guys like Rodriguez.

I'm sure HBO will continue to pay him big money to have a horrible TV fights with guys nobody outside hardcore fans have ever heard of, despite the shoddy ratings.

To be honest I think he just needs to get his promotional situation in check. He's just not being promoted the right way. He's got everything else going for him.

    1. Yes he will, the man will make 1.5-2 million a fight no matter who he fights now. And much more when he gets the bigger names. That much is evident.

    2. I never said it was a big fight, but it definitely is bigger than all of GGG's fights, combined. He was coming off a 1 year layoff/serious back surgery.

All I'm saying is that HBO needs Ward and they know that Ward will be a huge star in the future (Once Pac/Mayweather retires). Ward will take over.

    3. If no one is interested in Ward like you said and he does abysmal numbers, they would have shelved his ass already. Fact is, they didn't and he's the highest earner in HBO (Minus Pacquiao and Pacquiao's opponents)

    4. It's clear as day that Froch wants no part of Ward. And in answer to your question if Ward were to come over to England to fight me (I'm Froch in this case), I'd want a bigger piece of the pie.

A possible 40-60, 45-55 for me. Ward is the champion and has beaten me before.

What fighters outside of Pac/Mayweather have been involved in "BIG FIGHTS?"

    No one

Time is all he needs. He is having a bit of a problem with his promotional team and he just needs to get that sorted out.

Your suggestions are ridiculous and you run on a hidden agenda.

Why is it that only WARD needs to move up/down and nobody else needs to? ROFL. Ward is the p4p #2 and he should be able to lay out all the demands.

Ward still has Stiegliez/Froch/Chavez Jr to take care of.

Didn't HBO threaten to not pick up his last fight, telling him they will not pay him the millions he wants to fight bums?

    This is the truth!

HBO, are behind him, but will they be for much longer if he continues to have horrible fights, with dwindling ratings against guys nobody has heard of, while making unfair demands of fighters they are building up as big network names like Kovalev, Stevenson and Golovkin?

I really think if he fought those guys HBO would probably be secretly pulling for them too, kind of like, they seem pissed off that Rigondeaux beat Donaire :yep

first off....he started off on hbo and left because they wanted to play match maker for him when him and his ppl felt he needed to be groomed for the pro ranks. ppl **** on him way back then. he opted to fly under the radar and gave up the contract with hbo and resurfaced on showtime where he entered the super 6 tournament. he proved he was the best at 168 on showtime. now...hbo is paying him top dollar because he deserves it and has proven himself to be a top fighter in the game. rodriguez was the opponent the network wanted. he shut that dude down. i was at that fight and enjoyed it thoroughly.

as for his next fight/opponent...i don't know who or where or when...but best believe when i find out, i will be watching. he is a credit to the sport of boxing and is a master of his craft. if and when ggg decides to step up to 168 and face him, you will see just how good he is. my prediction...he's going to shut him down. same for kovalev and stevenson when the time comes. he doesn't need to move up in weight because those lessor accomplished guys want him to. ward has paid his dues and will continue to do so.

Who else has cleaned out their division and there aren't any big names left for them to beat who currently reside in that division? Golovkin hasn't cleaned out his division, Martinez hasn't cleaned out his, Kovalev and Stevenson haven't clean out theirs

You seem to think I hate Ward and that's your 1st mistake. I like Ward, he's no Broner- he's a nice respectable guy and either the number 1 or 2 best fighter in the world. Yes- he'd beat Froch in a rematch, yes he'd beat Stevenson and Martinez, and in all likelness he'd beat Golovkin and Kovalev. But he's not the DRAW he seems to think. It wouldn't be HIM packing out Wembley arena, and HE is partly responsible for shoddy viewing figures. Ward needs to start making comparmises to make the big fights happen.

Golovkin haters like to witter on about Golovkin should move up and fight Ward in Oakland at 168 and despite the fact GGG would bring a bigger fanbase and draws more viewers than Ward, GGG would have to accept a lower part of the pie than Ward and regardless of resumes, pound for pound standings and accomplishments that is a fact. Ward tunes viewers out, GGG tunes viewers in.

Would Ward accept going to Russia to fight Kovalev for a much lower amount for a huge fight than he should get-no. So he shouldn't expect the same of GGG.

I don't think you understand, boxing is a business, and the main stumbling block for Ward getting big fights is Ward himself.

I'm never argued that Ward was a great fighter and I also predict he will beat all those 3 fighters you mentioned. I give GGG and Kovalev a punchers chance, Stevenson has none.

I'm saying, if Ward wants those fights he needs to make comprises. If he wants to fight GGG he needs to accept he's not the bigger draw, if he wants to fight Stevenson or Froch, he needs to be prepared to travel to Canada or the UK, if he wants to fight Kovalev, he needs to move up in weight and not carry on fighting guys nobody has heard of, or he's already beat at 168.

Nope. Andre already tested that theory. His top two choices for his fight last November were midlevel MW - Caleb Traux and SMW Dmitri Sartison. HBO rejected both fighters based on his 2mill pay scale.

Andre's options are limited. Froch, Kessler, Groves, Steiglitz all make as much money fighting in Europe as they would for a big fight with Ward in the US. In other words they don't need him, nor want him.

Chavez is only using Ward's name for hyping himself. There's zero chance of Chavez-Ward ever happening because it be a one-sided fight worse than the Martinez fight, and it'd be boring. Julio makes more money fighting Brian Vera than Ward can make fighting a top SMW. Why on Earth would TR allow that fight?

Bika, Dirrell, and Jack are Showtime/GB fighters, so their off limits as well.

So Ward's most preferred option is top fight MW - Golovkin. But Gennady has plenty of options at 160 still, so that fight will be off the table atleast til 2015. Let's see if Ward decides to move up to 175 or stay idle.

Both Hans and MVC have shown to be strong allies of Team Elite. I feel a truce is in order. I urge both of them to settle this squabble over a crystal decanter of dandelion and burdock.

Once MVC agrees that Ward needs to take the test and Calzaghe would school him, he's got himself a deal. :deal

More people watched GGG's last fight than ward's
    GGG net worth 2.4 mil
Andre Ward net worth 2 mil.
