Floyd has been heralded as one of the greatest boxers of our generation, if not, of all time. The man takes pride in keeping his "0" intact. But during the amateurs, he compiled 6 losses. Obviously, the match that gave floyd his bronze medal was a farce, with floyd CLEARLY deserving the victory. But were those 5 other losses legit...???

Why do you care about "amateur" records.

This is professional boxing, not 4 round amateur bouts with headgear/10 oz gloves.

Floyd was 84-6 (Does not count Olympic wins/losses)

Why you getting your panties in a bunch? Last time I checked, ESB discusses "BOXING" and amateur BOXING is BOXING....are you part of the money team or something??? or even more, are you the guy that runs ESB?:think

Probably, you might be Floyd's cousin.....

only 6 losses in amateur boxing is pretty remarkable not many people who have competed at that sort of level and inly lost 6 times

    1995 World Amateur Boxing Championships
Lost to Nouredine Medjihoud (Pro: 0-3)

    1996 USA Olympic Trials
Lost to Augie Sanchez (Pro: 28-3)

    1996 Summer Olympics
Lost to Serafim Todorov (Pro: 5-1)

Lost to Martin Castillo (Pro: 35-3)

Lost to Carlos Navarro (Pro: 27-6-1)

I found this list of the fighters he lost to in the amateurs. It really bares no significance to his career as a pro. The only fighter that I recognize on this list is Augie Sanchez, none-the-less Mayweather's pro career has been nothing less than spectacular.

I agree. But kindly take note, I wasn't questioning the fact that he lost, i was just inquiring about the nature of those losses.....

So his famous statement "There is no blueprint to defeat me", applies only to his currently being a pro.....oh well, Lomachenko and Rigondeaux's amateur pedigree don't mean jack sh*t anyways...:nut

Martin Castillo was a very good pro elite at his weight class.

Are you unfamiliar with the rule differences?

Amateur and pro boxing couldn't be much more different...

Headgear, shirt, glove size, round maximum, THE ENTIRE MANNER A FIGHT IS SCORED, knockdowns, standing counts... etc.
