It could well turn out to be a cracking fight and i have a sneaky feeling this could well be the end of Canelo as a star as i'm just siding with Angulo to stop him. Even if Canelo does win, he's going to have some very rocky moments along the way and maybe even dropped a couple of times. The undercard is very good too. Leo Santa Cruz vs. Cristian Mijares - WBC Super Bantamweight title. Omar Figueroa vs. Ricardo Alvarez - WBC Lightweight title. Carlos Molina vs. Jermall Charlo - IBF Light Middleweight title. Jorge Linares vs. Nihito Arakawa - Lightweight.
Very good undercard indeed, will be interesting to see Linares on the tv again, he was very highly rated once upon a time. I wonder if he's got anything left to make an impact at lightweight
Actually Linares vs Arakawa could well be the fight of the night. Arakawa was that japanese fighter involved in the insanely entertaining fight against Omar Figueroa last year so glad to see he's been rewarded with another date on Showtime.
This I don't know what it is but he had Kirlkland ready to go and blew himself out. he's lost to Cintron before now so he's world class but not that next level. I don't rate Alvarez that highly and by that I mean he's a top tier fighter but not this great fighter they built him up to be. He had no chance to beat Mayweather none yet the hype train started. Hes not a massive puncher and struggles to fight at a fast pace against anyone of a similar size.. good fight but... Ill got an Alvarez close UD but hoping Angulo sparks him
I got Angulo stopping him dont see Alvarez having the workrate or movement to keep him off Kirkland was beating Angulo up for 5 straight rounds whilst Angulo was gassed and it still took alot to stop him Alvarez likes to throw combos I can easily see Angulo catching him with a left hook whilst Alvarez is in mid combo kinda like what he did to Lara Cant wait for Linares vs Arakawa should be fight of the night
had a lot of money on angulo agaisnt lara , but the hematoma tht appeared on his head , he had every right to quit to fight another day ... that being said he had lara down twice and all over the place , yet quit , kirkland was beast mode for that fight and angulo was coming off a long lay off , cintron beat him comftorbally , but cintron was a bit of an enigma .... since hes been with hunter he looks a lot more measured , kind of like maidana with garcia , crude slugger with power , learns to cut off the ring intelligently , the results jus may follow suit !
its a fight made for alvarez in that angulo will test him enough but not too much to beat him... perfect

Good breakdown of the fight. I'm pretty sure Lara would make Canelo look silly, yet Angulo nearly had him out of there. I do see slight improvements in Angulo under Hunter, if he comes into the fight 100% and gives him best possible performance against Canelo then i can see an upset happening.
Should be a cracking fight. I really do not like Canelo but I see him winning, could be controversial.
