Which 2 Hall of Fame fighters fought each other in their PRIMES?

PRIMES in terms of ability, physically, boxing IQ AND their PRIME weight class.

And what happened when they fought????

I am researching as we speak.

The point is all you mofos saying a certain fighter ducked another fighter during their prime , go back in history and tell me when 2 great fighters met in their absolute primes. It DOES NOT happen often. Fighters lose and they leave a part of themselves in the ring if its a war and they are not the same anymore.

Early research indicates there are examples in the Heavyweight division. I am doing further extensive research as we speak....

 

It might not be absolute prime, but close enough:

Hagler-Hearns was close, but not quite. Hagler was at his best probably around 80-83 (particularly in 83' against Sibson), and Hearns was better at 147 and 154.

Pep had lost one fight at the time of the first Saddler fight and was a huge favorite. Pep even won the second fight between them so he certainly still was in his prime.

 

all this talking about certain fighters today ducking other fighters in their prime ............if you look at the past, 2 HOF fighters rarely fight each other for whatever reason!!

 

The whole point here is that a HOF'ers "prime" likely won't include any losses... wouldn't be very "prime" of them, now would it?

 

Yes, but he, his trainer, and everyone else knew and said that he was nowhere near the same fighter physically. IIRC, he took a whole year+ off.

 

Pep was 134-1-1 and was the champ when he fought Saddler. Sounds pretty "prime" to me.
