    ...

It's pretty widely accepted that the plane crash completely changed his career. But it's all opinion...

Sort of like Monzon taking the gunshot wound to the arm and changing his boxing to compensate for it.

It would do until you realised how severe the plane crash prior to those fights that everyone thought would retire him actually was. Most fighters wouldn't be able to compete at any level after that but Pep wasn't ordinary.

My father knew Pep and his trainer. Even though Pep had been married about five times, his trainer told my Dad that he had the hardest time keeping Pep away from a particular dude before a fight. It turns out Pep was a switch-hitter.

It's suggests where I come from. Also the fight was kind of closer than people make it out to be. In a matter of fact I'm sure that not so many people ever saw that fight. The speed in that match was insane and the referees scored something like 40% of the punches that landed IMAO. Floyd prolly landed more but it doesn't change the fact that Todorov was a great boxer.

    Ok guys, I've caught one.
    This guy is a troll.
He claims that Bernard Hopkins wasn't in his prime when he first fought Roy Jones jr even though he knows Hopkins was in his prime.
It's a good thing nobody else has gotten involved in this skirmish but I still think it's in it's right place to warn you all.
    jas is a troll.
Don't get into an argument with him because he knows that everything he says on this site is wrong.
He's just pretending to think something in order to cause anger and irritation.

Good call on many of these.

Of the listed, ones that are debatable:

-Duran moved from 135 to 147.
-Ali was one or two fights removed from a 3 year forced hiatus.
-Ali was pretty old and been dragged down by Frazier and Norton already by the time he amassed perhaps his finest victory.
-Arguello was in his third division and had just one fights' experience at JWW going into the Pryor fight.
-Sugar Ray Robinson was outweighed by 15 pounds on the scales against LaMotta and had barely fought an opponent weighing the full 147 before.

...There will always be a double standard when it comes to weight. Many of the ATG's best scalps are over fighters fresh off a move up in weight. I'm pointing out the weight here not because I necessarily would cite it as reasoning to not apply, but because based on what most others say routinely, they would not apply for those people (which seems to be the majority).
