Like it or not Ward's best win is still Calzaghe leftovers

Love or hate a fighter based on nationality or race but when
you look at the facts. Andre Ward has only 3 notable wins
as a pro in his career and those collective victories have landed
him the RING #2 ranking on the mythical p4p list. But, let's have a
closer look at those wins, since his fans seem to think his SMW
career has eclipsed calzaghe's. His 1st signature win was against
Mikkel Kessler, but A Kessler who had at the time had only 2 low
level opponents in a span of about 2 years while he was going through
promotional issues with Palle to Sauerland and not the prime, focused,
busy and undefeated version that fought Calzaghe in a fun, action
packed affair. The 2nd signature win for Ward was Carl Froch. This
version of Froch that Ward beat had already lost to a defeated
Mikkel Kessler in a tough and grueling fight, but not the prime and
undefeated Kessler Calzaghe schooled. The 3rd and final win for Ward,
and for some reason one most people think was most significant, was
Chad Dawson. However, Ward didn't fight the Chad Dawson that beat
Bernard Hopkins, Glen Johnson, and Antonio Tarver but a dried out
very weight drained version of a rusty and cash strapped Chad Dawson.
So......while most feel that Andre Ward deserves the #2 p4p spot, I
personally do not because he's benefited too much from the super 6
tourney and what that did for the SMW division. He hasn't actually
beaten an elite fighter who was in his prime. Ironically, the same people
who bash Calzaghe for having fought no one elite in their prime, give
Andre Ward future ATG status and current p4p #2 based on the fact that
his best win is Calzaghe leftovers and a guy crude Adonis Stevenson thrashed
    in a round.
    Total double standard

    Joe Calzaghe's career>Andre Ward's career

**** off hillbilly. You always respond with some snide little
quip instead of a response because all that inbreeding in
your southern culture left you brainless.

Like it or not, Calzaghe's best win is Clinton Mitchell's leftovers.

Kessler was the champion, yet he was the one who had to travel over seas to fight Ward in his home town, with Ward's referee who helped him out in that fight. Ward should have been disqualified for the blatantly intentional, illegal headbutt that came from across the ring. Ward won by an illegal, intentional headbutt, any referee worth his salt would have disqualified Ward, after all, why do you think Ward only fights in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, everything...............

Ward has an elite resume and fully deserves to be rated so highly.

Which current fighters should be ahead of Ward on the current p4p list?

they are clazgahe leftovers because calzaghe came before ward.

you cant really hold it against ward that he is younger than joe. what do you expect him to do, build a time machine and go back and fight the leftovers before joe faced them? even if he did, he'd win again.... and then calzaghe would be fighting ward leftovers. Stupid to blame someone for their date of birth.

besides, ward has also beaten the fighters that joe ran in fear from - dawson and froch. froch is definitely better than Kessler, so that's one undisputed win better than what joe did. Joe ran from dawson's challenge, so that's another. SO the threads title is just not true, and disingenuous enough to be a non starter.

If it was based just on resume I think Bradley has a case.

Witter, Vasquez, Holt, Alexander, Peterson, Marquez and Pacquiao.

Problem comes that I thought Pacquiao should have won their fight and Ward has been more impressive in his fights.

Elite resume? Elite skills yes, Elite resume no. His best wins are Froch, Kessler and the ghost of Chad Dawson. He has done nothing in the last couple of years to back up his claim for p4p#2

I have Rigo, Bradley, Wlad above him and obviously Floyd. Even someone like Lara who noone talks about when it comes to p4p has arguably better wins than Ward, guys like Paul Williams, Trout and Angulo are at least equal to Wards best wins. Don't believe the hype

Ward's best win is that over Carl Froch, who Super Joe refused to even give the time of day to, as Super Joe was the undisputed #1 and Carl Froch was just starting out.
