No excuse from where i'm sitting as i honestly think Froch thought he would steamroller Groves.
The second part of your post is spot on though, and any poster with half a brain knew that Groves speed would cause Froch problems.

then why was froch so rattled in the pre fight build up? he seemed insecure and appeared to be lacking confidence throughout.

Froch knew exactly how good groves was because of the sparring he has done with him and obviously kessler and haye gave him the real lowdown.

Froch expected Groves to "respect" him i.e i'm the one with the titles and the experience, but Groves didn't read the script. This is why he got under Frochs skin, had he said " Frochs a great fighter with a great record, but i think i can beat him " then Froch would of had a different view IMO.
As for insecurites, wasn't Groves the one who was arranging to square up to some Twitter trolls who had upset his wife ? And was crying like a baby after the fight because Froch wouldn't give him his due.
Froch never thought for one second that Groves had the pop to drop him.

He probably did think that but I think Froch thinks the same thing going into every bout.

A good strength and conditioning coach can sort stamina issues out . Youve obv be following as a casual for 40 years. It's fine though... I know you've been brainwashed by sky etc over froch

    Bollocks

Show me a fighter who's big at the weight, who has transformed there stamina by changing coach/routine.
I've done a bit in my younger days and helped at my local gym till family commitments got in the way. You on the other hand sound like somebody who'd never seen a fight till satelite/cable TV arrived.
What you gonna tell me next, that Tyson was the geratest heavyweight ever ?

I'm no expert but why wouldn't doing a lot more cardio/endurance focused training improve his stamina and endurance?

I'm not even convinced his stamina is all that much of a problem tbh but I'm curious.

I'm 24 years old. Been following boxing since I was 15.
Prime Tyson was an absolute animal and only a handful of heavyweights may of beaten him.
Kell brook is a recent example of a fighter who has employed a strength and conditioning coach and seems much fitter and stronger. He says it's helped him a lot.
There are many more examples which, for a froch fanboy like you, I won't bother going into. Because you will probably think there's still no way a fighter can improve stamina.

Which is exactly why you shouldn't be hurling insults and telling people they don't have a clue.

In an ideal world, improving conditioning would simply be a matter of different training techniques and maybe diet, in the real world with fighters trying to make weight that simply isn't possible.
Kell Brook is a poor example, he probably improved his stamina by having one fight a year against nobodies.
His best win is against Senchenko FFS, the same Senchenko who was stopped by Paulie !!!!

Just because your older doesn't mean your more clued up mate
Why you going off topic? I'm not talking about his opponents it's his stamina you plum. Which has definitely improved by the way.
Your losing an argument you can't win. Of course it's possible. Why are you being so ******ed?

    Then provide an example.
The sport of boxing is full of decent fighters who simply don't have the engine in the later rounds, so why didn't they just train differently ?
Maybe you should offer your services.
Brook hasn't improved his stamina, he simply fights more conservatively than he has in the past, which conserves energy.

Well off the top of my head Wladimir Klitschko is a big built fighter who has greatly improved his stamina. Also Victor Ortiz improved stamina a lot for the Berto fight.
