If Angulo TKO's Alvarez, how much credit would you give Mayweather's win?

This fight is a complete joke. How in the hell does two guys coming off of a loss, one of them suffering a broken orbital bone, end up on PPV?

If this fight goes past 4 then that would speak volumes about Alavarez, IMO.

No doubt but I think his stamina issues combined with the catchweight BS played a huge role in how the fight played out.

That said, I agree with the notion that his trainers were WAY too over confident in Alvarez' ability to box. Did they not learn anything from the Trout fight? Outboxing Floyd ain't on the menu sir. lol...

This kind of puzzled me too. Why on earth would you try to outbox Mayweather? It didn't seem to me that Alvarez had the best game plan for the fight.

His Stamina definitely played a part, and maybe the catchweight did bother him. I just didn't think it would because he came in at 153 against Trout. and a healthy 165 ( 13 pounds rehydrated ) against Floyd.

I know, I didn't think Trout was robbed. I gave Canelo a slim win, but definitely not those ridiculous cards those judges had lol.

I think Canelo will be at his best when he moves up to Middleweight. Hopefully his stamina issues will fade.

I was really surprised to be honest. When SHOtime showed the Tale Of The Tape, and I saw he had 15 pound advantage, I honestly thought Floyd might be in for a rough fight. But by the 3rd round, I saw their gameplan, and I saw that Floyd hadn't even adjusted yet and was winning on the cards. That's when I knew it was pretty much over. He should have tried to cut the ring, and attack the body.

But then again I never been in there with Floyd. We dont know the angles and logistics. It could be tougher than we think.

That was the biggest fight of his career. He should have gone balls to the wall. Whatever idiot sent Alvarez and his 15lb weight advantage out there to BOX should lose his job...

Canelo/Mayweather first 4 rnds were competitive . Both fighters just feeling each other out , exchanging jabs .

Neither fighter committing too much in those early rnds .

You can score it for Floyd 116/112 but then again you also score it 120/108 for Floyd as well .

Those early rnds could have went either way .

If Canelo loses, it will turn out he really does have no heart and he's afraid to get hit.

If he wins impressively by KO and takes some shots, that's proof in my opinion, Floyd paid him TO LOSE.

    PERIOD.

That's why he appeared not to try. Either that or he's soft and afraid to get hit.

Surely Angulo beating Alvarez will make Mayweather's win look bad. However, Angulo winning will most definitely make Lara look far better than he already is considering he recently beat both Trout(Alvarez' best win) and Angulo. I really hope Alvarez gives Trout a shot if he beats Angulo. I'll have to vote "Still give Mayweather credit because Alvarez was undefeated and the champion".

floyd fought him when he was the champion, when everyone on here was saying he would not fight him (and half those people left or made alts when he signed the fight)

very big win for floyd i rated it highly and lets not screw around here, 2.2 or 2.3? million PPV buyers agreed that this was not an easy fight. alot of them (myself included) for once thought this guy may just beat the guy

    It's actually smart.

Why would Floyd risk losing and compromosing hundreds of millions of dollars of potential earnings when he could easily pay Canelo off with approval of Oscar, and keep his record intact.

Either that or Canelo is soft and afraid to get hit. If that's the case, Angulo will beat the shed outta him, like what happens to you when you volunteer your ass every Friday for some random man to pulverize it.

i agree. i thought if he went hard as **** for the opening rounds applying calculated head and body combinations while floyd was on the ropes he may have had a shot maybe like he did against the smaller lopez. but like the poster above said fighting floyd is prob aloooot harder then it looks.. hell i spared today and i can tell you it always suprises me how difficult it is

floyd was backing canelo up at points i think the general consensus that floyd has no power is just ****ing bogus, iv seen to many BIG guys with GREAT chins get backed up by mayweather

you got 700 posts on a boxing forum with those ideas ? do you realise how much canelo stood to make off of a win vs floyd...

    p4p ranking SOARS UP!
    Sponsors are licking your ass
you are the new top dog with your choice of just about any opponent and most likely hold all the cards
or you could just get another gaurenteed huge payday vs floyd and even if you lost that rematch YOU STILL HANDED FLOYD MAYWEATHER (one of the best boxers we will ever see in our lifetime) his only loss (likely to retire if he won the rematch)

so lets just assume your right for a moment and floyd did infact pay canelo to lose. can i ask how much you think floyd paid him? lol
