If Angulo TKO's Alvarez, how much credit would you give Mayweather's win?

I'd still give him full credit. Alvarez was clearly the No. 1 LMW and Mayweather beat him to start a new lineage.

    I don't believe that for a second .

I find it extremely hard to believe that you would ever root against Floyd .

Mayweather is a god in your eyes .

sure, canelo won the first round when he was outlanded 13-5, outthrown 27 to 31 and landed only 19 percent of his punches to floyds 43 percent.

canelo nuthuggers, who are pretty much the dumbest guys on this forum or boxing in general, will tell you that canelo won that round because of his "effective agression," "ring generalship," and those five shots that he landed where "harder" and did more damage than floyds 13 punches.

    :huh

Since 2005, I have (as backed up by posts on here and comments on main page articles even before I signed up for the forum...same username...) cheered on:

    Gatti
    Baldomir
    De La Hoya
    Marquez
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Guerrero
    Alvarez

(all guys I am openly a fan of)

...and hoped they would humble Mayweather and take his zero, even while knowing in most cases they didn't have much of a chance.

That is eight of his last twelve opponents...66.66%. Two-thirds. Overwhelming majority, in other words.

In the Judah, Mitchell and Hatton bouts I didn't really care either way how they went. Judah and Mayweather was sort of a win-win, both were IMO loudmouthed punks so no matter who lost I won...and I always found Hatton a tad overrated and was honestly gladdened to see him shown up by someone who at least actually took seriously the craft & dedication end of the sport and didn't lapse in their fitness during off time...all that even though Ricky seemed like he would be much cooler to hang in the pub with, and it would've been fine by my if he pulled it off. Sharmba just never wowed me. (or tugged at my heartstrings like a Cinderella Man Baldomir)

The only time in those twelve bouts I rooted specifically for Mayweather was versus Ortiz...and that's because Ortiz is a complete piece of ****. 1 of 12. That is 8% of Mayweather's time in the ring in the last decade, that I have rooted for him - and it was because the opponent was an even bigger heel.

If the May opponent is Maidana, he will join the eight above to become the ninth person since 2005 I cheer on to beat Mayweather. Should it be Khan, he will either be lumped into the 'neutral' category with Mitchell/Hatton/Judah or with the even more exclusive "love to see 'em lose (even more than I want to see Mayweather's zero taken)" club with Ortiz.

Why do you think that? I bet it has nothing to do with him losing to Mayweather. No way. That CAN'T be it.
