Leonard was pathetic in the Duran rematch. i can't bare to watch it.

Hagler/Hearns was a war won by Hagler due to being much bigger. wouldn't exactly say it was the "perfect" fight plan.

not a bad pick. but Toney fought the way he usually did anyway, it's just that Barkley played right into Toney's strengths.

Nunn vs Toney was perfect until Nunn got over confident.

    what, the rematch?

Schmelling was shot by then. it meant nothing. nothing out of the ordinary for Louis in that performance.

regardless of whether you give credit due to the size of both, you can't deny that Hopkins got it spot on in terms of tactics?

he never let Tito get set. always making him pick his feet up by moving around the ring.

it was a great performance. even if Tito was my favorite fighter back then.

Louis v Schmeling 1. Schmeling said he noticed a weakness in Louis prior to the first fight. The weakness was that Joe tended to drop his left hand after a jab. Schmeling exploited this weakness and ko'd Louis.

Mayweather vs Gatti was the most perfect performance I have ever seen. Perfect and violent.

    Hopkins v Tarver
    Jones v Ruiz
    Mayweather v Alverez
    Oscar v Vargas
    Martinez v Pavlik

Smaller man beating a bigger man with a good game plan is impressive

It was a perfect game plan. Hearns was so difficult to outbox at range, and was most dangerous when he got full extension on his right hand, so Hagler had to switch from his usual style and become way more aggressive. He went from a patient, methodical boxer to a bull, and beat a great fighter.

I do think that Hearns was better at 147-154, but he wasn't bad at 160 either and I don't think there was a huge size difference.

Trinidad was a big WW, having problems making 147 as early as 1994, before his brief but excellent run at 154, and had dominated the 2nd best MW in the world before that.

Ok, Joppy was nothing special, but Trinidad still beat the crap out of the world's 2nd best MW and was a solid 3-1 favorite over Hopkins.

Hopkins was close to flawless that night, beating Tito in every aspect of the sport.
