Ironically Floyd's cv is quite similar to Sultan Ibragimov's when all is said and done. Both only managed to snatch the silver at the Olympics and in the pros both made a name for themselves beating shot hof'ers. Ironically Sultan has the better single win with his easy win over Holyfield. A version of Holyfield who would go out and give Valuev a tough fight years later when challenging for the title.

 

I have to hand it FMJ. He has once again built his brand w/ out any
risk to his brand. He built value on a fight by creating a poll
between 2 fighters that anybody who knows this sport is aware of
the outcome before the fight happens. The problem is, is that when
the one of those two fighters that posed the most stylistic threat first
won the poll that Mayweather himself made, Floyd then when into
marketing mode and went on the hunt for all social media to eventually
find Maidana the winner. Now, while I don't have a problem with Maidana
getting the fight, I do have a problem with a fighter continously getting
out of stylistically tough matchups because he can get casuals to allow
him to take the maximum reward with very little risk. This is why the history
books will NEVER give Mayweather ATG status.
