ETM good point made about Frazier`s weight, not a juiced weight. Frazier used his lack of height to his advantage... Fighting out of a crouch, put him right in line for what he loved most, the body !! Digging the left hook under then over, he was very effective against all fighters, Foreman a problem because of incredible power. As for Ali, an ATG so no disgrace for Frazier having issues with him...

One helluva fight no matter who wins but I'll go with Frazier. Holyfield would be better off keeping Joe on the outside and boxing him but I don't he would...at least not for long. Once Frazier whips in a few good left hooks and right hands I can see Holyfield get angry and try to make Frazier pay for it and that benefits Frazier more than Holyfield. Evander didn't have the clubbing power of Foreman and that's what it took to stop prime Frazier in his tracks. Frazier by decision in a see saw battle and one of the best HW bouts of all time.

I think Frazier wins this one.

Holyfield's tendency to brawl and Frazier's bodywork make me favor Joe. I thought Holyfield was somewhat vulnerable to the body. I can't remember the round against Foreman, maybe the 4th, Foreman landed a left hook to the body and Holyfield was visibly bothered by it, sort of leaning over to his right. Bowe hurt him to the body throughout their trilogy. Moorer hurt Holyfield to the body at the end of one of their rounds in the first fight. Lewis hurt Holyfield to the body in the 5th round of their first fight. Out of all the shots Lewis landed in both of their fights, that body shot hurt Holyfield in the most. And Holyfield ran into a right uppercut in the rematch! Toney hurt Holyfield to the body and stopped him with body work.

I know some of these are when he was old, and no one likes it to the body, but this is a whole pattern of him being hurt to the body. Frazier had loads of stamina, a huge fighting heart just like Evander, and a wicked body attack. Left hooks and right hooks to the body.

    That makes me favor Joe.

:goodPeople put too much stock in height, shorter guy's with skill and leverage that know how to work the body, give tall guy's fits, look at prime Tyson in the 80's and James Toney, Duran was a short stocky guy who often fought taller guy's and more times than not found a way to win...

Besides back in the 60's and 70's most heavyweight's were around 6 foot, you didn't start seeing giant heavyweight's until the mid 90's...

I think Holy wont allow himself to get caught as he did with Cooper. He knows he is facing a top fighter and prepares like never before. Its brutal and goes the distance with Holy eeking out a razor thin decision that is debated through the ages. Both fighters are lauded for their heart........pity we cant ever see this fight for real.

Hey, its me again. How about a prime 71 Holyfield vs. a prime 91 Frazier?
Holyfield less bulk and musculature, Frazier more bulk and musculature.
Simply more trying to compare eras.

Frazier clearly wins the reverse era competition. Holyfield was very good at maintaining his skill & workate while bulking up for (largely pushing & perhaps chin) power. But in '71 he would be unlikely to take PEDs; it was just much less prevalent in the general culture. Either way, without the artificial size how would he be competitive with Frazier?

Again, for the reasons stated above by a few & well by Silver Skull, Frazier is favored even over the Real Deal-unreal body prime un-Holyfield.

Holy is the clear winner for me here... He did most everything better than Joe and was a more complete fighter. He would also be the bigger fighter. Holy by clear UD

Frazier wins every time:yep, like i said, the pressure joe puts on him, along with the brutal body attack, works Holy down...

Think Qwai, Holyfield 1, but Holy would be in the ring with a man with a lot more power in his fists!!!

Good points, you also missed that Tyson too hurt Holyfield to the body. The only sucess Tyson had in the fight was the fifth round. The only time Tyson threw any combinations and bodyshots was the only time he had any sucess against Holyfield
