Timing beats speed(JMM vs Pac, Garcia vs Khan etc), and FLoyd has great timing along with speed, hard for haters to realize he can beat any style.

Gurrerro, Hatton, Ortiz, Alverz and now Madona. Just how many more cherry picks is 'Money' going to pick? The last 5 or so years of 'Money's' career has been shocking. Embarrassing for a so called great. Wake me up when he faces someone worth a damn.

poor greenhorn still does not have a damn clue about boxing. Pro boxers are called Prize fighters for a reason. Do you think SRR fought almost 200 fights over 25 years because he wanted to prove he was the GOAT or do you think he did it to put food on the table. Back then there was only one champ, no PPV no big cable deals, promoters and managers were robbing the fighters blind. so these guys had to fight to often and since the chanp made the most money they all fought the best to become the champ. This was not about who was the best, it was about putting food on the table and they had to fight a lot because they got less of the purse.

in SRL time, the biggest names fought each other because that was were the money was (and there was a lot more great fighters to be matched up with). Hearns, Duran and MMH were all big money fights but Pryor was not. AT this time there was only the wba and wbc belts and if you were ranked by either organizations you were more likely a quality guy. so fighters fought the best because that was were the money was.

Today, there is so much politics and competition between promoters and networks it limits the amount of options a fighter can fight. Also, everyone and his dog owns a belt so the landscape is littered with fighters who can make a claim to be qualified to fight the best. If a fighter marketable and can make a claim to be a top fighter he is more likely to get a big money fight over a fighter who many feel is more worthy.

Top dogs, like Floyd, Pac, Cotto and Wlad can pick and choose who they fight because everyone under the sun wants the golden ticket. It is up to fighters to prove they are not only worthy but also that they are MARKETABLE. Because nothing has changed in pro boxing for over a century . . . these guys fight for MONEY and try to make the most they can in the limited time they can.

So for people who grew up only watching the AMs fight it maybe confusing because these guys do not get any funding to survive. they do not for glory of nation but food in the belly.

Today, everyone and his dog has a strap.

boxingmaster, neither was 10 million per pound in any commission rules was it? But floyd accepted it and that clown ran for the hills eh? only to take the test after been brutally ko by marquez! Now, he runs from vada, to usda by proxy, who follow wada rules even if it is adminstered by nsac. see the hypocrisy in pacs case?

JMM won that rivalry with his timing, not just that KO JMM won 3rd fight for sure!!! so 2 1 1 in favor of JMM.

cant believe Mayweather has the nerve to pull this one! no one who has any understanding of boxing has any doubt about the boring outcome of this one.

Maidana doesn't have the skill level to compete, the real fans of boxing are the only ones getting cheated here, why give you anything better if you are willing to support this with your money.

Im happy for Maidana he deserves the payday, and stoked that Kahn is out, his arrogance was so infuriating. At least Maidana DESERVES a payday, However this fight is still a dull load of shiit.

Mayweather cant get any lower in my estimation.

Leonard did not duck Pryor. He offered Pryor a career high payday and Pryor wanted more money. More Legendary Nights revisionist history.

Leonard was a diva though, and turned into a cherry-picker in the late 80s.

Robinson was a diva also, and would cancel fights all the time. Promoters hated him because he was unreliable in this sense. Robinson priced himself out of a fight with Burley, who himself did not blame Ray and said he would have done the same thing.

 at Khan having good footwork.

It's always been a problem because the vast majority of boxers...actually like 99%, don't get paid much

80% of the boxing world was EXTREMELY UPSET that floyd was even entertaining the idea of fighting Amir Khan in a fight because of his inactivity, chin and decline in his past few fights. People are saying Maidana should get hte nod because even though he's not the best fighter he earned it the right way by beating maidana.

NOW that floyd gave the fans EXACTLY WHAT THEY ASKED FOR (fans even refuted floyds website voting results) and people are saying Floyd is scared of khan because of his speed. This is exactly why floyd acts teh way he does, the majority of fans in teh sport the guy no matter what he does. It's ridiculous already.

I'm guessing that like 99% of celebrity pro athletes (and politicans) are unfaithful to their spouses/girlfriends.
