I dont know what sport you watch but as fans of boxing or any other sport, we care about what happens no matter its boxing, baseball, UFC, basketball or football. That is why we are fans...

I am not "proud" of Floyd picking a mediocre opponent over an even more mediocre opponent. My expectations, or standards, are not that low.

Floyd, along with Arum and Manny, have been giving us the finger for over 4 years. There have been some decent "consolation" bouts, but Mayweather-Maidana isn't one of them.

I'll do a round-by-round of it right now:

Round 1-12: Mayweather lands, Maidana misses. Maidana misses, Mayweather lands. Mayweather 10-9

Khan is the better boxer, therefore the better challenge...a puncher has no chance besides the usual punchers chance.

That's exactly right. I don't know why people keep buying in to a puncher being able to compete with Mayweather. You have to at the very least have a jab to compete with Floyd, at least Khan can bring that to the table.

I love people pretending like maidana earned this fight. Who did he beat?

Broner? the kid is hot garbage..he barely beat midget paulie who is totally shot.

Karass? What's he done besides beat berto and get KO'd by thurman?

Josesito? Im not even going to address that...

Devon f'ing Alexander spanked him. KHAN boxed him up.

Maidana wont win a single minute of a single round...slow as molasses.
Khan at least has the speed and will land punches.
Landing actual punches something gurerro, canelo, and maidana cannot do.
Floyd really testing himself with these opponents...that total b-tch.

Being fast is not the end all be all in boxing .. Khan speed so far as got his stopped twice .. Speed is only good if you know how to use it.. Against a fighter like Floyd who nows how to deal with speed Khan inexperience and his lack of ruggedness, would not fair well against floyd.

Floyd has already shown on many occasion that he can deal with speed with little no issues..

Its Khan who has not been able to deal well with fighters who's physical assets exceed his own.

A young Oscar and a young Mosley trouble Floyd.

Not saying they beat him but they where both well and truly done by the time Floyd fought them

    They all lost convincingly though.

The Oscar fight wasn't that close.

Mosley-Judah were both outclassed after early success.

I like Marcos Maidana. He comes to fight and has endured his hardships while coming back to win fights. He is an exciting action fighter who always makes the crowd glad they paid to see him fight. In other words, he is the opposite of Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Floyd hardly ever presses the action. He picks and pokes for the first half of most fights, gets the pace to the slow point he enjoys and then puts us all to sleep with another performance that we forget as soon as we watch it. I can watch fights with guys like Maidana over and over but I would have to be paid to watch Floyd's fights twice. With that said, Floyd will win.

Winning is everything to Mayweather and he has done a great job. Does he deserve credit? Absolutely. However should people pay to see this? Absolutely not.

Be forewarned fans. Boxing will continue to throw garbage like this at us until we stop funding it. The sad truth is that the guys who bring the fight hardly get appreciated while the counter punchers and guys who are all skill and no thrills continue to get the big rewards. Boxing is hit and not get hit. I get it. But watching boxing is not about seeing one guy dance around and win fights by throwing forty punches a round and discouraging the action fighter down to a nub. I mean whittling a stick is a decent pass time but no one wants to actually watch it.

Defund the boring fighters like Mayweather. Not because they are no good. As for what they do they are the best. But it is not quality entertainment. Golovkin and action fighters should typically stay away from the Mayweathers of the sport because they will typically lose to thse boring guys and have their status dropped even though most fans would rather see them fight. If you enjoy the finesse of a Mayweather performance, fine. But if you like to watch a fight between two men looking to please the crowd, put your support towards other fighters like GGG who actually bring it and stop supporting Mayweather fights. Trust me. This guy has already figured out all the angles on Maidana and knows he can win. Otherwise he would not be fighting him.
