I feel if groves is in serious trouble the fight might go on too long this time. Froch is also past his best and might take a beating he might not walk away from. I hope we dont have a michael watson or gerald mclellan situation. We need a strong ref and some clear heads on fight night. Im expecting a brutal fight.
Look ivan drago i want to see a good fight as much as you do. I just dont want to see anyone seriously hurt. The promoters organisers need to keep this in mind.
Hope nothing like that goes wrong obviously. The bad feeling Ive got, because I want Groves to win,is that Froch walks straight through him this time.By no means a certainty that Groves is gonna win IMO.
I can see a different fight with both fighters showing each other a bit more respect. Groves should stick to his boxing more and make sure he keeps something in the tank when Froch starts putting the pressure on if he's behind. A lot depends on whether Froch can dictate a high pace.
I can see the first 3-4 rounds of the fight both fighters being very tentative, Froch because he knows Groves can hurt him and Groves because he doesn't want to run out of stamina and I think the last 6 will be a war.
Froch comes straight out the school of Nigel Benn rabbit punching, hopefully the ref doesnt allow any of that rubbish
A tragedy can happen in boxing even in a fight that no one would think should have been stopped. On the other hand, even if a fight is stopped 'too late', fighters don't normally get killed because of it. Increased risk OK. But no, they don't normally get killed just because the ref should have jumped in 10 seconds earlier.
If you want to see lots of great fights, that involves having higher risks to the fighters to some degree. There isn't a way around that. If you jump in, as soon as someone looks a bit hurt, of after 1 or 2 knockdowns when they would have been able to continue OK, (even if they risked getting brutally KO'd soon), then you aren't going to get half as many epic battles. Imo, we should expect professional fighters, in title fights, to truly go to war. Yes, their life is on the line. They can also make big money etc. That's the game. It shouldn't be treated the same as schoolboy boxing in how they are protected.
Froch - he is better prepared this time. Groves will try to repeat his first 5 rounds - but he has“nt got the stamina - Froch will stop him Again.
I think it will be fine. If the fight needs to be stopped I think it will be stopped at the right time. Not too early, not too late.
