I still think it's OK to want a rematch because the first fight was good action.

But the outcome was clear cut. Garcia by more than a point or two...

 

People are forgetting that a couple months after the fight with Garcia, a report came out that Matthysse was very seriously considering retiring from boxing.

I'm 100% sure the beating Matthysse took was FAR worse than the one that Garcia took.

Excellent post! I agree. I felt the same way when I saw his act against EM and thought it was ridiculous and hoped that EM would beat the **** outta Garcia and make Angel eat his words. Angel really does knows everything and he was right all along. Angel is good for boxing and really loves his son. He feels his son came up the hard way and has never really been respected. Hell people here in his own country didn't respect him they booed him like crazy against Lucas. So you can see where he gets his anger from. Angel a G.:deal

are you talking about the second fight with EM? he tested positive so i thought he was right by talking ****. they could have pulled out the fight all together...but danny went and got the job done.

 

The first fight he talked **** to, that's when I first noticed Angel and thought he was out of line.

 

i didn't hear any of the prefight talk because i didn't pay attention to that fight until it happened. i remember thinking danny would be too slow for morales. that was before i studied him. i didn't think he was going to beat morales. after that fight...i had to look up his other fights. the more i studied him...the more i realized he had real skill. i became a fan instantly. ppl dismiss that win and say morales was old, blah, blah, blah...this was the same morales who had just come off the one sided beat down of undefeated cano and took maidana to deep waters. ppl thought he won the fight against maidana. ppl underestimated that first win against morales.

so what did he say?

 

Lucas never seriously considered retiring. In fact, he wanted the rematch with Garcia. Now we can see why Garcia has refused.

 

Can't remember exactly what he said just disrespecting EM. I remember that because the fight was here in Houston and the press conference was here to.

I like you hadn't really thought much of Garcia until he beat EM the first time. I knew that he beat Holt but Holt runs hot and cold anyway so I didn't put much stock into it. After his EM win I started to pay more attention to him and saw that he was a solid all around fighter a jack of all trades and a master of none kind of guy and became a fan.

 

Of course the loser of a fight who brings less to the table economically will always want a rematch for a fight they lost.

no one wants to admit they were wrong. don't expect the matthysse band wagoneers to concede anything.
