Some people take being a fan to a new level.

I didn't quite appreciate how many fans, like the TS, Mayweather has out there. But look at the front page of the thread titles. He's all people like the TS either want to or know enough to talk about.

what a stupid question. im sorry but thats what that is.

if canada lost at the gold medal games, would it make them a better hockey team?

if pacquiao gets knocked out again would it make him a better boxer?

if floyd lost it would make him worse because people would be more confident in fighting him and his aura of unbreakable defence would be shattered.

Personally, I think if he had gotten the loss against JLC then it may have lit a fire under his ass and given him more of a drive to make the best fights possible to prove his talent.

However I don't think it would have improved his ability, just his desire to prove his talent.

    ...

When he fought Castillo, he was an early-mid 20-something year old gunning for his second lineal title in as many divisions. With an ace resume.

Wouldn't make him a better fighter, but I think people with losses early in their career like Hopkins, Marquez and Donaire are more prepared to take bigger risks.

I think Mayweather would probably be the same. Regardless of what his fans say- he is worried about losing that 0 as he thinks it holds more value than it really does.

Only funny thing is how Floyd haters doesnt know **** about boxing, if he had zero power like you suggest he would not be able to fight guy much bigger like Canelo, he has enough power to keep people of him and think before they attack, he isnt puncher at 147 for sure but he aint Paulie Malinagi...

    You're right.

The list of fighters that fought at the championship level for more than a decade and finished undefeated is so long with so many irrelevant fighters that it doesn't mean anything... suuuuuuuure...

maybe...who knows? he'd go one of three ways, he'd up his level of comp in order to prove his atgness despite the one defeat, he'd continue at his rate of picking opponents who have no legitimate shot at beating him simply because he would still be a superstar, or, he'd shrink, and retire soon after that first loss. it's tough to say.
