Could a prime Mosley knock Mayweather out?

Shane fought Oscar back in 00 before Floyd had been anywhere near a mega fight.

No he tooth repair , not ache was in 06 after shane had beaten Vargas.

 

He did, but it doesn't really matter what you say in front of cameras. What matters is what you do in negotiations. It was pretty obvious that a Mayweather-De La Hoya fight was gonna happen, and Mosley had to make up some excuse other than "my boss is gonna fight him".

Hell, when Mayweather and Hatton signed their fight, Ricky's dad admitted they had been in negotiations for a year and a half.

As others have stated, the answer to the "could he" question is yes he could. But I suspect he wouldn't. My guess is that prime Mosley would probably keep Floyd too much on the defensive and outhustle him to a decision win.

 

It's possible, but would it have happen I don"t know. We seen what had happen when they fought. If Mosley would have taken the fight when Floyd wanted the fight 10 years ago. We would have seen if it could of been done, but Mosley didn't want the fight. Maybe he had doubt within himself that he could have possibly lost.

I was huge fan of SSM but was disappointed when he sidestepped PBF to chase a fight with Oscar. But hey, no one wanted to fight Floyd back then. BIG RISK/ little reward

 

Yes a prime Mosley could have KO'd Mayweather, but a prime Mayweather could have KO'd Mosley as well. Ultimately when they did fight, Mayweather did beat him, and as much as we all like to reflect on what Mosley did in the 2nd round, Mayweather was also very close to stopping Mosley in the 10th round with a great body shot.

 

Same could be said for Pacquiao since Manny fought Shane AFTER Floyd. So if Mosley was washed up when he fought Floyd, what was he when he fought Manny? And if prime Shane would KO Floyd then what would he do to Manny?

Why do so many people erroneously claim Mosley almost KOed Floyd. Floyd dind't even go down, and was walking Mosley down the last 30secs of the round. How the hell does that =almost Knocked out.
