Not sure what the rankings look like or how WBC deal with this. Hope it doesnt derail Degales eliminator, that would be all his career needs.

It would be great if Degale became mandatory off the back of this, Jack was caught with 2 good punches there

Derek Edwards just did TMT a favor and saved them a fortune. Jack looks chinny and DeGale would have done him in the middle rounds.

In an ideal world Edwards should get the eliminator with James DeGale next if he comes through his fight tonight.

    C'mon Chunky :bbb

i seem to recall the WBC saying that DeGale needed to fight Periban then fight Chavez JR in order to get the shot. maybe he will fight Chavez in a final emilinator since Periban didn't fancy the job.

chunky would box chavez jr silly, stylistically chavez has no hope, james would be too slick too fast. chavez isn't a big KO artist like they try to make out, if you've seen him fight since his jr middleweight days then you know his power is vastly over exagerated. james won't fold like andy lee who winning clearly on points. if its offered james should take it, big payday, big fight and an easy win.

hennessey have got to make sure the fights not in mexico or texas.

Wonder how this will pan out now?

Great counter right hand from Edwards though, the timing was superb.

Mick will need to win the purse bid if he wants to choose the location of the fight.

The thing is if Chavez Jnr wins tonight i think Top Rank would be more interested in waiting for the winner of Froch-Groves in May.

    Not so sure about that.

Chavez wins tonight, faces & beats Bika (which I think he would).. he brings a title to the table for Groves/Froch.

Fcuk sake hope this doesn't screw Degale up
there was talk of the Jack eliminator fight being on the Mayweather undercard which would have been perfect both title shot wise and for publicity

Hennessy need to get on the case quick with the WBC and make sure that politics with Chavez etc dont come into pay

That does make financial sense for Chavez Jnr, but he does hold a lot cards already in negotiations due to his massive fan base. The thing is it's the time frame and Chavez Jnr might not want to risk a fight against Froch/Groves winner to fight Bika because beating Bika isn't a gimme!
Another thing, you sure Chavez was going to get a shot at Bika if he wins tonight or isn't he meant to be involved in these eliminators along with Degale? (Stupid question really seeing as he always gets what he wants).
