Burns looked better than Crawford at weigh-in IMO . If burns can force the pace from the get-go, could be more interesting than I first thought...
Agreed, I've nvr been fan of Ricky's fights but he's as nice a guy as ur ever going to meet from what I've seen :good
Good fight this. Appleby is trying to wear him down, but Cardle is producing the more cute stuff.. good movement. Only problem is, Cardle has the skills but just doesn't have the pop to make a big dent.
I think it's gonna be a lot more competitive I've than people think, Dougy Fischer from ring mag has picked Burns by uncontroversial UD
Crawfords work rate isn't high and the crowd are gonna go absolutely crazy very time a punch is landed on Crawfords arms and chest.....
Round 5 Cardle is making Appleby miss no-look hooks delivered from a deep sideways lean, and evading his wide attacks while circling and keeping ihs knees slightly bent, head ready to jerk around but completely unguarded with his gloves resting on his upper legs. Appleby is leading with jabs to the body, lunging and falling short. Appleby is down, slip. Uppercut and overhand by Cardle. 10-9 Cardle 48-47 Cardle
Fisher also predicted Broner by super wide Ud or brutal body stoppage and also picked Canelo to Ud Floyd. No one is perfect though of course.
I have yet to see one correctly thrown punch in this fight. If fighters worked on technique more and less on just overall fitness these two would be much better.
Round 6 Appleby is diving in with jabs on the body and slamming down with the right hand as he gets inside. Cardle is countering with uppercuts dragged in from behind the right hip and then shot in upward arcs toward Appleby's chin quickly. Appleby is pressuring and brushing Cardle's unprotected face with his jab and chopping right while getting stuck with a few slashing backhand counter jabs. 10-9 Appleby, close, as they've all been. 57-57
