Looks crude and had no memorable traits besides his power. Maybe his sheer volume of power punches in the early rounds. The best guys he fought in the 70's were Lyle, Frazier, Ali, Young, and Norton. Frazier played into his hands. He caught Norton. The 2 most technical guys beat him. Looked sloppy vs Lyle. His second career probably gets him into the top 10.

I think hes overrated, BUT I think hes more overrated BECAUSE of his second career. I think most of that was fixed. We know at least some of it was because Arum admitted under oath.

Lol Foreman is overrated but guys like Rocky Marciano aren't? Typical idiots of this forum. Who did Ali beat? He lost all 3 bouts with Norton, He only beat Frazier because he was blind in 1 eye. Liston's was past his prime and only beat Williams and 170 Pound Floyd Patterson. Ali Struggled against Chuvalo. The Lyle fight was stopped quickly. Foreman beat himself.

Also "TheExpertboxer" Foreman also beat Boone Kirkman was a top level fighter for a while. He beat George Chuvalo, He beat Gregorio Peralta 2 times. "Chuck Wepner" wasn't much of a fighter but Ali fought in in a title fight. Scott Ledoux wasn't great but Holmes for him in a title bout.

Jimmy Young also beat Ali, Norton, Shavers and Lyle. You are a boxing expert right? Foreman was suppose to come to Puerto Rico 3 weeks before hand to get used to the heat. He came the day before. According to Gil Clancy Foreman ignored him and listened to one of Don Kings lackeys . Clancy told Foreman to go for the knock out and the lacky told Foreman to play wity Young. Eventually Gil told the lackey to get out to corner and Foreman to throw some damn punches and he did and hurt Young. Not being used to that heat was apparently to much for Foreman.

It is funny how people who have no clue about boxing. Basically most of you people. You will hear one part of a story and stick to it. Through out Foreman's career he fought better people than Tyson, Joe Louis, Marciano, Lennox Lewis or Ali. So if Foreman is overrated then so are they. Actually Marciano is just a bum regardless.

Lol who did Tyson beat nikrj? Mitch Green? Who did Louis beat? Billy Conn a middle weight? Who did Lewis beat? A washed up Tyson and Holyfield? Who did Ali actually beat. I don't mean get a gift win against? Nobody. You can also who did either Klitschko brother beat? Who did Larry Holmes beat in his prime who was considered world class? Nobody. He did beat some decent fighters later on though.

Foreman destroyed Joe Frazier. No close win. He destroyed Ken Norton, He destroyed George Chuvalo. Boone Kirkman was rated 7th in the world before Foreman destroyed him and he as never the same fighter afterward. Gregorio Peralta was 77-5 when Foreman beat him and he went 10 hard rounds with out getting tired which proves that bull crap about Foreman having poor stamina is just that bull****.

RockyJim people who know boxing you know know boxing so I mean none of you people here. They get sick of racist white guys trying to put a 180 pound bum over real heavyweights.

No one in history except Ali beats Foreman the night they fought in Zaire. Prime Foreman had crippling power with either hand and was very good at cutting off the ring.

What is Larry going to do once he's backed up against the ropes taking those murderous bombs to the stomach by Big George? He can forget trying to outbox George, because Ali certainly wasn't dancing away in their fight. The only good shot he has is taking a good shot in the stomach and FOLDING. :hat

People make extreme claims all the time. Reading this, ask yourself, if I had to swear on my life, would I know I did not psychologically align myself with a tribal or personal alliance & cherry-pcik the facts to suit my bias?

Everyone fights tons of "bums". Naming a few proves nothing. Some like Rocky due to racial bias, but ASSUMING trhis is the reason for it often reflects hatred &/or bias-& when someone rounds his weight down it shows petty bias.

Foreman was a top 10 ATG by most reasonable reckonings. His bludgeoning power & chin are a skill too. He also had a numbing jab, a ring-cutter par excellence, was 40-0 with 37 KOs when he fought Ali. His comeback? He did avoid some real threats. I know nothing about good evidence of fixes.

    This is overrating Foreman.

He was a force but not quite that exceptional. There were some other great heavyweights that would have a good shot to beat Foreman.
