Ricky Burns vs winner of Crolla and Murray

    With Eddie Hearn keen on the fight between Anthony Crolla and John Murray, i can see him pushing through a fight with Ricky Burns in the summer.
    I'd personally like to see Ricky fight the winner of Crolla and Murray if that fight happens in April.
    Both of them would pose different problems to Ricky. The fight with Anthony crolla has been spoken about before but if he were to lose then John Murray could maybe take that shot from Anthony.

    Anthony Crolla: If Crolla can hold off the aggressive John Murray it would good preperation for a potential bout with Ricky who is a big lightweight, Anthony would try to box with Ricky and would be a good fight for him to come back to.

    John Murray: would be a very interesting fight, John showed last night he is still a big lightweight and if he overcomes the Crolla test then he would try putting lots of pressure on Ricky and we would find out if Ricky can dig down deep in a hard fight again.

    I would prefer Anthony Crolla because with what i saw last night i think John could impose his style on ricky and maybe out hustle him, to me Ricky seemed to want to protect his jaw and wasn't interested in fighting inside and was intent on standing against the ropes with his hands up covering his chin. Imo John Murray would make him pay for having his hands that high with body attacks and really wear Ricky down.

    Saying that if ricky boxed like he has done when winning the titles then he could outbox John.

    Which of these 2 would you like to see win and get the fight with Ricky?

    Neither would be a match for Burns, but I do think it's the type of fight he needs in the summer to begin rebuilding... basically a confidence builder to then bounce back on the world title bandwagon.

    Burns would have Murray walking onto pretty much any shot he wanted, his lack of head movement would be his undoing.

    Crolla has improved a great deal, enjoy watching him fight and he's a good boxer - but not in Burns class.

    I agree with what you are saying them not being in Burns class but that would have been the class of 4 fights ago!!

    The last few fights there seems to be something not right and I think it could be better match ups now between Ricky and either John or Anthony.

    think burns beats them both they are made for him

    but burns has looked awful for 3 fights now

    think murray beats crolla if hes back properly and not goin through the motions

    Burns would beat Murray easily. Crolla wouldn't be much harder. Burns isn't elite but he's above domestic level. Its pointless fighting those guy's because he beats them easily. He should take on a top ten ranked fighter and only fight domestic level fighter if its a last resort sort of thing.

    Crolla would be the tougher fight for Burns IMO, not saying Crolla is better than Murray ( we will find that out soon enough ) but Burns stylistically could have an easier night vs Murray.

    I've got to say John Simpson was hitting John Murray with flush punches last night and obviously johns only a FW but if a good LW were to do the same Murray IMO would be in a world of bother.

    After last night mate do you think John's team made a balls up taking the Murray fight? Did you have any input on John's opponent?

    It was John's decision to take the fight,he will however box at FW from now on

    Thats good to hear, John Murray looked 3-4 divisions above John Simpson!! Simpson could do damage again at Featherweight!!!

    Would Ronnie Clark be an option for John as a comeback fight at Super Feather? it would be a good mix of styles

    If ronnie could do FW I don't see why not but IMO Ronnie hasn't done himself any favours shouting folk out

    I think Burns is a level above either but could be a good comeback fight to give him confidence, but I think Ricky wants to stay at world level by the sounds of it.

    Listen you don't fight 10 world title fights in a row and lose one in 22 then even contemplate boxing at domestic level.
    with respect to the other LW's in UK Ricky is a good deal better than them and they all need to earn the right to fight and win a world title just like Ricky did.
    Obviously I wish them well because down the line there could be big fights to be made
