Watched it with a group of my mates having some beers. We were all nervous before the fight because we saw Lacy as a major threat, never expected the boxing masterclass that Calzaghe produced, one of the best ever in a British ring.

Watched it with my older brother over a few beers.

Remember my brother being excited about the prospect of seeing Jeff Lacy live as he had only seen some youtube highlights of him.

Needless to say, after the first round, my brother was sitting there laughing, saying Jeff is in for a complete bumming, which he was.

Haha yeah I remember after the 1st round thinking what Lacys reaction would be, after the 2 nd and 3rd I realised it did not matter what reaction, he was outclassed. Lacy was game though and took it like a man.

Man Lacy entered Immortal British history :rofl

You do know that there is a video of a current Welterweight Knocking down Lacy right before that fight, journey man Omar Sheika was a point or so away from taking Lacy belt. Oh yeah...Omar Sheika is a legend himself (the historic showdown vs Joe)

Sven Ottke is still undefeated, ATG SMW...that shared the privilege of living in Northwestern Europe along with Calzaghe

    What a performance. Sensational.
You can see why Calzaghe was avoided throughout his career

    The commentators were awful!

I still remember 90% of people on here thought Lacy would win. Many just from looking at their bodies!

take this circle jerk into the British or classic section. Slappy has been retired for how long now and you guys still touch yourself when you think of him.

    8 years ago huh...

So is this a hurray, or a 'those were the days' moment? Because there's not too much to cheer about from the island since.

Yes he did have a lot of hype surrounding him back then, they thought he was the second coming of Tyson lol, cal definetly boxed his ears off, I was very surprised when I watched it back then.
