Interesting and Con hasn't been exactly bowling them over.I suppose only Joe Ward and Conlon are bankers, Myers will make Paddy shift gear.
I agree. I thought Fitzgerald did enough to nick it, but a draw probably would have been a fair result. Lee hardly did anything, he was very poor.
Barnes Phelan Conlan McComb Walsh Donnelly (if he can pull off a game plan like last week) O'Reilly Ward Sweeney Sheehan I look forward to PP odds. They usually throw them up on the Wednesday or Thursday beforehand. A punt or two would be nice
Everyone get on twitter and retweet Lou DiBella to show your interest in MAcklin v Lee. Every small step helps.
Tweet them, but tell them that it's a travesty if this fight doesn't happen here in Ireland. Look at the oxygen pumped into British boxing by the Froch-Groves saga. It'll be shameful if Macklin-Lee doesn't take place here. The fans have supported these fellas for years and have had to watch them in the witching hour for a long time. Imagine the kick up the arse Irish boxing could get from this derby at the O2...or better yet, Thomond Park or the Aviva. Though I'd admit those last two represent wishful thinking.
Where else might it happen? :huh Over here in the US it would only really make any sense in NYC or Boston. ...and sorry, but should it end up being the latter I'm not going to be too broken up about it. :yep It would no doubt suck and be an unfairly bitter pill for you all, but I'd be there with bells on.
Ah most of them pick themselves. Strong claims from Moylette that he beat Nevin too, and might well have done, and I thought Geraghty could have nicked his fight as well with McComb. A close fight, Geragthy clearly won the first round, second and third were fairly tight but McComb established a semblance control and stopped getting nailed with right hooks.
Article I did with Sean McComb here. http://www.irish-boxing.com/somethi...omb-in-depth-with-belfast-boxer-and-his-team/
No doubt a good number would travel and I probably would myself. Just... thinking of the undercard opportunities for fighters here. Also it'd be a chance for the fight to hit back pages in every paper in Ireland (there are lots, too many probably) and the positive effects that would have for the overall game here. Suspect that DBE will put it on in New York though and he's keen to stick it down for April, HBO willing.
Not too sure all that many Irish fans would travel to US to see Lee- Macklin. When it comes to the crunch most Irish fans may not be willing to shell out heavily to travel to see this fight stateside IMO - it would cost an awful lot to do that. It was probably a bigger fight 2 years ago or so, maybe then people would have travelled in numbers. It was different for Macklin-Sergio. That was St Paddys weekend, huge Irish holiday, feelgood factor etc. Plus also bear in mind that Macklin was a live underdog against one of boxings superstars. None of those factors apply here - if this is going ahead in April they have mistimed it badly to miss St Paddys day by a month - not deliberately - I know there were reasons for that, but still..... Anyway its all up in the air until date and venue are announced.
