That's good, that needs sorting. McDonnell never lost the belt in the ring and has a chance to set that right, while Hall can further legitimize his effort against Malinga and show he deserves to be champ.

It's not going to happen unless McDonnell gets in mandatory position. Hall is fighting later this month on Boxnation.

It's more rubbish from Hearn like the £5 million he offered Khan to fight Brook.

Was there ever talk of Malinga getting an immediate rematch? :huh

    If not, why not?

Hall's first defense ought to be either Malinga or McDonnell, in fairness. If anybody else they both have a sound gripe.

I wouldn't expect Dennis Hobson to go offer Jamie McDonnell a title shot after what happened between them.
Hall-Malinga was close but Hall was the clear winner, so i cant see the need for that to happen again. To be fair the Ward fight makes more sense than the Malinga fight.
Maybe McDonnell can fight Malinga and the winner can get a shot at Hall.

Yeah, I've read a bit of that drama...

I did think he took it clearly but the scorecards were too wide. I had it 115-112 to Stuey.

Malinga fought well enough to earn another go, especially after the nonsense he was put through by McDonnell waiting for his fair shake as mandatory in the first place...

Eh, can't agree with that, myself. I rate Malinga's performance even in the loss to Hall above Ward scooping up the vacant Commonwealth belt against some padded-record Ghanaian.

That's very reasonable. McDonnell and Malinga have unfinished business anyway, and yeah, the winner would then be a clearly deserving challenger and almost unavoidable whatever Hobson's personal feelings.
