It's an example and a very good one, it shows the dynamics of full body combat. Watching that fight, and comparing it to any other mma vs boxing match, what do you see playing out differently?

There is the Sylvia-Mercer fight where Mercer ktfo Silva, but then you gotta realise that Sylvia is a big tall guy who usually fights standing up using his height. He was ******ed thinking his height and size would help him in a standup fight against Mercer, so Mercer KO him because he was given a chance.

Ronda and Couture on the other hand aren't stupid, they are grapplers, they are not gonna box with a boxer. A grappler can force a fight to the ground, a striker cannot keep a fight off the ground, that is the difference. To keep the fight off the ground, you would need good wrestling defense yourself, something that Floyd would have to spend at least a year practising to nullify Ronda's takedown attempts.

You evidently have more faith than Rousey. In the interview she says she wouldn't even approach Mayweather on her feet so "shooting" is out. She says in a joking manner that she would "****** walk"( whatever that is) to Mayweather to try to get him on the ground. This indicates to me that she seriously doesn't think she could win in any venue.

What makes Rousy an easy fight for Mayweather is that Mayweather is to quick and to fast for Rousy to get her hands on.

I was rooting for her hard in the rematch with Rousey . Yet it was very clear to see Ronda was just the superior fighter .

 

She was joking around and she is approaching the fight in 100% safe mode. If she stays low and shoots, Mayweather would have no chance to stop that double leg takedown, none. He can try uppercut but if she's low enough that would be hard to pull off. Pretty much Toney said he was going to uppercut Randy when he came in, that worked well.

There is a reason Ali made it so that wrestler Inoniki could not take him down in their friendly exhibition match. Leading up to that fight, Joe Lewis a karate champion demostrated to Ali how Inoniki would beat him, took him down twice in friendly sparring. That was when Ali decided Inoniki wasn't allowed to take him down, and Ali held on to the ropes the entire match.

Mayweather would absolutely fight off the backfoot. He'd be in retreat mode and strike only when Rousy would be standing tall.

As soon as Rousy ducks low, Mayweather would be on his bicycle in retreat mode.

Mayweather's footspeed would be the key. Rousy would never be able to reach him for a takedown.
The way Mayweather would reach Rousy to short circuit her with a punch would be by feints.
It would be Rousy blinking and hesitant with every feint of Mayweather's.

What would make it an easy Mayweather KO is that I dont think it would even take a punch thrown with 60% force to take Rousy out.
